She pressed her palm against the cold door, hesitant as to whether she should enter the room or not.

Something that kept her from heading inside at many times was the guilt she'd feel once she would set her eye on him. The sight of his still body, purple lips and pink eyelids made her insides warm up.

Throughout the four weeks of his miserable stay within the laboratory, she had never once heard his voice. That was of course enforced by no one other than herself as she didn't want the microphones set around his room to pick up on things.

She had been extra careful with her movements whenever she entered or left his room, almost like she was a criminal escaping from a crime scene. Just frightening and nerve racking.

Whenever she passed his room on her way towards the main lab, she would find herself thinking of possible strategies to help him survive. She didn't exactly know why she felt the need to save him from getting killed by the doctors.

She had the key to the storage room which held thousands of files determining the plan regarding the patients' power extractions and his file happened to be the first one in line.
