THE HOWLING.

20. EPILOGUE : you love someone, you open yourself up for suffering

"One year."

     "One year?"

Rowan nodded, scooting to foot of her bed. Klaus stood in front of her. "One year, and if I haven't gotten sick of you yet ‒ I want forever. I've already lost you once, I don't want to feel that ever again," she said, voice quiet. She pulled Klaus to her as she stood.

He smiled and his hand went in her hair, brushing it back. "Are you sure about this?" Are you sure you want me?

"No," Rowan said honestly, "but I want to." I want you.

Klaus nodded, and leaned toward Rowan, pressing his lips to hers, so soft and slow. They fell to the bed, and Rowan pulled away, her fingers tracing his jaw.

"Klaus." He hummed, eyes closed. "Take me to the end of the world."
