Chapter 1

Sweat drips down Taehyung's forehead as he struggles against the stark black buckles holding his arms tightly against his side. The brunette has 30 seconds to get out of his restraints before a gush of water filled the large clear glass tank in which he has been suspended upside down into. Although he was struggling he had to keep his cool. He slows his breathing to rest his heartbeat and focus his concentration. He gets out of the first restraint and one hand is free. He utilizes his flexibility to lift himself up and begin working on the buckles strapped around his waist to free his other hand, which is tied tightly behind his back. Taehyung lets out a groan as his stamina depletes and he falls back down to a hanging position.

"Tae!" A small voice shouts. Taehyung looks to the left, his vision blurring slightly due to the blood rushing to his head. His heart begins beating quickly once more and it wasn't the situation, it was the boy. Jeon Jungkook, V the Victorious' assistant had called to him just then to warn him about his time. 3 of his precious seconds were spent staring at the beautiful Maknae of his magic act. It's worth every struggle afterwards.

V quickly hoists himself up again and unbuckles his waist with ease, lifting himself once more to release his legs one by one. Still hanging from one leg Taehyung gets soaked with 500 gallons of water, filling the tank. Breath by breath he begins swallowing water but he doesn't hit the emergency button. He continues, eagerly trying to keep his title as master magician and escape artist. Holding his breath he calms down and allows the tank to fill up within seconds. Once more tighten and curl of his torso and he reaches for his last restraint. His hand grips the slippery metal as he unbuckles the belt. Suddenly he's free and sinking to the bottom of the tank. He gives the crowd his signature rectangular smile as he blows out the rest of the air in his lungs daringly. Now at the bottom of the tank he stands tall, placing his fists on his hips.

Suddenly his chest tightens and he realizes that he shouldn't be messing around or showing off. Jungkook releases the breath he was holding and unclenches his fist once he saw that Taehyung was free. He rolls his eyes, wondering why he was worried in the first place.

Kim Taehyung, or V the Victorious as the world called him, is a professional magician and as per recent events he's an expert escape artist. His youngest assistant, Jeon Jungkook, has only recently joined him in his endeavors after quitting school. His family had begged him to take his college entrance exams but Jungkook knew that he was meant to perform, meant to show off his skills on a big stage. He dances and helps with diversionary tactics during each of V's magic tricks and sometimes he even sings during the intermissions. The crowds love him so much that he's been nicknamed the Golden Maknae.

Thrusting himself up to the top of the tank Taehyung swims to freedom, pushing against the tightly closed lid and throwing it off, listening to the glorious crash of the metal on the stage floor. Climbing out and over the tank he sticks the landing as he jumps out, throwing his hands in the air and absorbing the applause and shouts of the immense sea of fans before him. He turns to Jungkook and smiles. Once the Golden Maknae shows off his own smile, V's face turns red and his heart flutters once again.

"Yah Taehyung!" Jungkook rushes into Taehyung's dressing room after the show and throws a towel at him. He tries to act furious at his dangerous antics but he's more relieved than angry.

"I know I know but you're the one who tightened those belts so damn tight" Taehyung begins wiping his face and ruffling his hair through the towel as he looks Jungkook over. Every assistant in his act wore either a leotard or tight shorts and a bralette, the latter specified for the females, but Jungkook sported a skin tight fishnet top that showed off his milky white skin topped with a cropped leather jacket and tights. Every time he came on the stage the girls went crazy, and so did Taehyung's pulse.
