in which dan and phil are thrown in a fairytale esque land and they have to survive
part one: swanky suits and a selection
the boy checks himself out in the long mirror leaning against his bedroom wall. the frame of the mirror is made with gold and is very well designed so you know the boy is loaded with money.
he plays around with his dark chocolatey hair and arranges his fringe before picking up the crown on his dresser.
"look at me being a prince and all, i look so swanky." he says, snapping his fingers and pointing at his reflection in the mirror.
the boy hears a knock on his door. "prince daniel?" the maid calls. "your mother has called you to lunch."
the prince leaves his room with the maid and the sound of his shoes click against the marble floor.
"good morning dan, take a seat." she points to the chairs at the end of the table.
dan never understood why his parents told him to sit at the end of the table. he'd thought that it was a waste of time, always raising voices trying to get the message across. but instead of questioning, he obeyed and plopped into his seat.
"you called me mother?" he asks, as he struggles to cut the bread in half.
"well, your father and i have discussed and we've come to a conclusion. son, your 25th birthday is coming up and we want you to find a partner. you know, someone you can spend the rest of your life with." his mother says, her eyebrows furrow as she looks at her sun still struggling to cut the bread in half.
"dan, we think it's time for you to hold a selection. have one of the servants send a letter to all the different kingdoms saying that you're looking to find a partner."
"mother," he places the knife down. "i think im old enough to look for a partner, i dont need your little matchmaking service." he picks up his knife and finally manages to slice the bread in half. however, a piece of bread flies and hits his father's face.
"daniel, you can't even cut bread properly, how are we suppose to believe you can find someone. listen to your mother, we're having the selection." the man flicks the breadcrumbs of from his coat.
"whatever. you do whatever you want, i'll be in my room." dan pushes his chair back and it makes a screeching sound. he gestures to the maid by the table to bring his bread and butter to his room.
he'll be having his breakfast in bed today.
