phan au pt 4

im currently in a car driving to another country

part four: the princess and phil

"and this is the garden, all of my pets live here. look! there's one over there!" phil points to a dog sniffing a yellow flower.

if dan didn't die while looking at phil's eyes, he probably died when he saw the dog. immediately after phil pointed to the dog, dan sprinted towards it.

"ITS SUCH A CUTE DOG CAN I MIGHT KIDNAP IT." dan excitedly pats and messes around with the dog's fur.

"don't you mean dognap?" phil winks at dan.

"wow philip." dan rolls his eyes and gently pushes phil with his elbow. "what's its name?"

"barry. barry the bear-like dog." phil sits down on the grass next to dan.

"bear like dog?" dan makes a face at the dog, its nose twitches and then it starts licking dan's face. "barry stop no."

dan struggles to get the slobbering dog off him and all he can hear is phil's laughter behind him.

"come on let's go to my room, i wanna show you something." phil grabs dan's hand and helps him up.

they both walk up the stairs to phil's room. sitting at the top of the stairs was a girl with ginger hair. dan knew it was phil's sister, he recognised her eyes.

"hey there kiddo," phil messes her ginger hair and sits beside her.

"muffie's dead." she sulks.

dan makes a confused expression and looks at phil for an answer. phil nods and mouths 'its a bear'.

"im sure muffie's in a better place. hey ill get you a new bear, you can name it muffie the second." phil tries to cheer his sister up.

"but muffie's my favourite bear, she's the only-" she stops and looks up. her eyes glisten and for a second dan thought the pools of blue turned yellow. "OH MY GOD ARE YOU A PRINCE?"

dan's eyes widen and he is baffled at how quick her feelings changed. he throws his head back and laughs, bowing he says "yes, in fact i am a prince and who may you be?"

the girl stands up and bows back. "well im princess penelope." she giggles. "are you my prince? are you here to save me?" she says excitedly.

"save you from who?" dan asks.

penelope rolls her eyes and points to phil beside her. "he's been stealing all my food. quick save me before i starve and die of hunger." her hand flies to her forehead and she faints.

dan plays along and carries her on his back. they both run around along the corridors for awhile while phil laughs at the pair.

"come on penelope, me and dan have something to do. we'll play with you another day." phil pouts at his sister on dan's back.

"okay whatever. you can have prince charming back." she slides down dan's back slowly and skips to her room.

"so what's the thing you keep wanting to show me?" dan asks, his legs crossed on the floor.

phil tosses him a box. the box has a red and white ribbon tied around it. "open it," phil says.

dan opens it and empties the box. out drops a small stone with and irregular shape. "what is it?" he moves the stone around trying to look at it at different angles.

"can't you see it's a dinosaur? look it has the pointy scales and everything." dan squints hard at the stone, trying to figure out where were the eyes and mouth was.

"striker had it in his mouth, he probably found it in the garden." phil continues.

dan gives up but he appreciates phil's gift. he feels a little guilty that he didn't bring phil anything.

"thanks for the gift, sorry i didn't get you anything. i have to go now, i have this weird dinner thing." the boy explains. "wait a minute.. do you wanna come?"

"are you sure? i don't want to interrupt anything." phil scratches the back of his neck.

"nah it's fine," dan grins and gives him a thumbs up
