The sound of silence lingers in my ears.
I still taste my favorite apple tart.
Morning dew resembled shattered glass tears.
Leaving home paralyzed my beating heart.
Spring was for watching the apple trees bloom,
And summertime for playing with the bugs.
In fall, I chased the falling leaves' costume,
While winter was consumed by mom's warm hugs.
My love for home soars past the sky and stars
Because my home is where my heart resides,
And parting from it left numerous scars.
My vivid memories have been my guides.
Someday, I want to find my home again,
And feel the feelings that I felt back then.

I used to live in Pullman, Washington (Not D.C.!) and I really loved everything there! My friends, my school, my life. However, I moved to California when I was six because my mom found a job, and I had to leave everything behind. For the longest time, I missed my true home so much, and even today, I have those moments when I feel nostalgic about my old home, so this sonnet was inspired by my feelings today about my memories of my life once upon a time.

Love y'all more than spinach,
