Benny (the sandlot)

"Sorry hun"

Walking home you start to notice all the amazing things in this town, the pool, kids playing outside, families having barbecues, and all of the cute guys playing football or baseball. Walking by a baseball field you hear your name getting called by a familiar voice
"(Y/n) ! Hey (y/n)!" It was Yeah-yeah you wave back and keep walking because you noticed he was playing ball with his friends. Yeah-yeah ran for you and grabbed you pulling you back.
" (y/n) wanna play baseball with us?"
"Uhhh no thanks I don't know them and it looks like you have enough players" you said
"We could always use another pitcher so Benny doesn't have to keep tossing it to himself."
"Sure sounds like fun" you said laughing
You and yeah-yeah walked back on the field, with everyone giving you strange looks.
"Hey yeah-yeah, you got yourself a girlfriend ?" The boys laughed and teased you guys
"Hey shut it guys. She's just a friend " he fired back the boys laughed again
"So where are he Pom-poms? Or is she just gonna stand there?" A tall tan boy said
You were mad that the boys weren't very welcoming especially the tan boy. They were obviously thinking you came here to watch but you wanted to play, you loved baseball your dad taught you and you played softball. But they didn't know that not even yeah-yeah. Only Zach knew because you played baseball with his friends the other day.
"Excuse me, but I came here to play too." You spoke up with sass
"Sorry Hun, girls don't play here, not with us. So go over there and stand pretty." The tan boy said
"I played softball before I know how the game works"
"Awwwwwe you played softball, sorry but this is baseball. I don't want you to break nail" he said
"Benny man, let's just see how she dose, she's kinda cute" one of the boys said
"Yeah yeah, Benny I thought it'd be a nice change if she pitched for awhile" yeah-yeah spoke
"No. No way am I letting a girl play with us" Benny argued
"Why are you scared?" You said with a smirk
"No! It's just girls don't play with guys."
You just stood there smirking and chuckling because you know Benny is getting mad
"Fine! You'll pitch and if I think you're good you can stay." He said with a smirk
You shook hands and went to the mount. All the boys got into position and Benny grabbed his bat. Looking around to where all the boys were you grabbed a ball and stood there.
"Any day now princess, unless you were wrong you don't know how to play." He said with a smirk. You chucked and nodded to him so signal if he's ready, he nodded back. You threw the ball really fast Benny swung and missed getting a strike. All the boys looked shocked except Benny he was pissed. The boys laughed and cheered.
You got ready again this time you threw a curve ball, again Benny missed. You threw the last ball causing Benny to hit it straight at you. Scared you stuck out your glove and hit your glove , causing you to catch it. When Benny was running around the bases smirking from hitting the ball he didn't even notice you caught it. The rest of the boys stood in silence of what they just noticed. You were tossing the ball and catching repeatedly until Benny noticed. You tossed the ball to him and started walking back to the dugout. Benny just stood there with the ball. You were the only person to ever get Benny out.
"Damn" squints said
Benny took off after you
" hey what the hell was that" Benny said
"What? You wanted me to pitch, if you wanted me to go easy on you I would've"
"What's your name?" Benny said still a little frustrated
" (y/n)" you said and kept walking
Benny grabbed your arm and spun you around
"Where are you going? We're still playing."
" home I have homework" you replied
"I bet you get straight A's and shit huh?" He said with a smirk
"Yes. Yes I do" you said proudly
You started to walk away when Benny grabbed you again
"So I'll see you tomorrow I guess" he said kinda shy
"Maybe, we'll see" you said with a smile and walked away.
