It is about noon and it is time for the doctors appointment. There are butterflies in my stomache. What if he says I still have to wear it?
When we arrive we go into the examine room and I get an x-ray. I wait and I wait in the doctor's office. The doctor comes in. My heart is pounding. He hesitates and I know what's coming. Wait no I don't. He says the boot can go bye bye! Yay!
It's time for gymnastics practice and I will do the backhandspring layout stepout, I am determined. First up, was the floor. I was a little rusty but I didn't get hurt. Next was bars, because I will not be doing vault today. It is finally time for the beam. I stand there for a minute, then close my eyes and go. I did it I did it! It was the happiest day of my life and I got right back up on that beam and success was mine.
