CHAPTER 4

"Jade".
"Jade".
"Jade".
I look up out of my daze to see who's calling me. It's Liv.
"Yeah" I say quickly adjusting to my surroundings.
"That guy over there's staring at you!" She giggles.
"What? Where?" I say hesitantly.
"Over there. Don't make it too obvious!" She says sharply.
"He's the one making it obvious by staring at me" I retort.
"Look now.  He's sitting with the new girl and the guys from the baseball team" She says smirking.
Then I see him. His baby blue eyes burning into mine. I turn away embarrassed.
"Oh" I say quickly.
"Jade do you even know who that is?!?
It's Dean! The second most popular boy here!" She says like I don't know.
"I think you're forgetting I've got a boyfriend Liv!" I say with a smirk.
"Yeah but he's miles away! Dean is right here, that's all I'm saying" she says as her lips curl into a smirk.
"Liv!! Can we end this conversation now please" I say with lots of attitude.
"Fine your loss" she says mardily.

"Ok so have you done your maths homework" she ignorantly says. "Um no what did I have to do?" I say shyly.
"You had to solve X for..."
I start to daydream as she trails on about the homework. I mean who even does homework anymore! Anyway was Dean actually staring at me?!? Or was it just Liv's wild imagination? Wait what? Why do I care? I have Trystan! Thinking of Trystan I better call him. I haven't seen him in a month and I want this to work out.
"So did you get it" Liv says briskly.
"What? Oh um sorry yeah I'm sure I'll be fine" I say brushing her off slightly.
"You'd better hope so with mr Murray on your case" she says walking off. "Catch you later".
"Bye" I say my voice trailing off as she struts down the hall.
