For the entire trip, the total people who were coming were Riley, Farkle, Cory, Topanga, Shawn, Auggie, and Ava. Luckily for them, they had a SUV to ride in.
Farkle didn't pack any items for this weekend considering it was just one visit and back.
Mr. Matthews, who was protective of his daughter, was iffy about having Farkle come with them instead of Maya. But, Topanga promised him nothing would happen between Riley and Farkle both.
To Topanga, she thought Riley and Farkle were a replica of herself and her husband, Cory. Every time she saw them together, especially when they were little, she couldn't help but take a drive down memory lane.
The very beginning of Corpanga, as others call it.
On the drive there, it was hard for Farkle and Riley to not show any sort of love interaction together. It was Cory's ideas to form strict rules between the two. They couldn't kiss, they couldn't hold hands, but at least stay near each other if they wanted to.
The only thing Riley and Farkle did in the car together, was listen to music.
Not only were they the love couple, but so was Auggie and Ava.
While they were listening to music, Riley discovered that the song
"Bubbly," by Colbie Caliat reminded her of her and Farkle. She always gets bubbly around him, and the first time he talked to her in forever, that's how she first felt. Not to mention she was quite surprised.
When they arrived at Riley's grandmas house, Cory, Shawn, and Topanga were searching for their favorite teacher; the best teacher they ever had, who provided them with not just class lessons, but taught them how to take on the world. His name was Mr. Feeny.
"Mr. Feeny?" Cory asked, and the familiar face popped up from his garden. Cory had always remembered catching Mr. Feeny on the other side of the fence, gardening and plowing whatever plants into the dirt.
Mr. Feeny smiled, and tried to fix his glasses into place.
"Look who it is, my favorite students." Mr. Feeny states.
Farkle and Riley smiled. Farkle never met Mr. Feeny himself, but heard numerous stories his dad had told him.
Farkle walked up to the fence. He had a lot to ask Mr. Feeny himself.
"Well hello young man, who are you?" Mr. Feeny asked, astonished to find another person other than Maya.
"I'm Farkle, Farkle Minkus. You should recognize that name." Farkle insisted.
"Of course I do, Stuart Minkus," Mr. Feeny says,"you look just like him."
"He's my father sir." Farkle stated proudly.
"You get straight A's just like him?"
"Yes I do. I'm known as the genius in class." Farkle says.
"That's how Minkus was in our class." Shawn said out of nowhere, recalling that memory. Cory and Shawn would always tease him in class; not to mention that it was always about his crush on Topanga.
"So, Mr. Feeny, how have you been?" Cory asked.
"I've been good, but I miss my class." Mr. Feeny sighed, wishing he could go back to the days where he practically raised Cory, Topanga, Shawn, and the rest of the gang with his lessons for the world.
"We miss it too. We came to unbury our time capsule. To see how much we've almost 20 years from now." Topanga informed Mr. Feeny.
"You've all changed a lot, but in a great away." Mr. Feeny said with a pleasant smile on his face. The rest of the gang just smiled at him, and went to go find the time capsule. Farkle was the first one to find it.
"Found it!" He called, and the gang came to help dig it up with a shovel.
When they found it, tears started to swell around Topanga's eyes.
She remembered what her, Cory, and Shawn put in there. Now they are able to look back at everything again.
To see how history changed them as people.
They all decided to put in the back of their SUV and save the surprise for when they got home. Riley and Farkle on the other hand had an idea.
"Come on Farkle," Riley got a hold of his arm and pulled him up to her Dad's old tree house. This was where he grew up. He'd come up here with Shawn when they were about Riley's age. Discuss any secrets, keep them, or for Cory to revolt from his parents. Even Morgan came in here to hide from any problems she accidentally caused.
When the two got up there, there was a stuffed teddy bear that reminded Riley of the one Auggie ripped up.
Beary the Bear Bear, Riley thought.
The two took a look inside, then later planted themselves in the tree house. It was actually quite big for one.
"Riley, I've been thinking," Farkle started, getting ready to suggest an idea,"maybe we can make a time capsule of our own? When we get back to New York?"
"That would be a great idea Farkle." Riley says. Her brown eyes sparkled, which was one of Farkle's favorite qualities about her.
The two sneaked a kiss, and they stayed up there for a while til Auggie and Ava came to get them. They saw how Riley had been leaning her head on Farkle's shoulder the entire time.
"Riley and Farkle sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love. Second comes marriage. Third comes the baby in a baby carriage." Auggie and Ava teased in unison.
Riley rolled her eyes while Farkle just smiled at how cute they were being.
The two came out of the tree house to eat dinner in the Matthews place.
This was where it all started for Cory. Now for Riley, that's how it was starting for her in New York.
~
When they got back from Philadelphia, they returned back on Saturday around four o' clock in the afternoon. They slept at the Matthews place so that way Cory could get some energy to drive.
The first thing they did was open the time capsule. Ever since they unburied it, Cory, Shawn, and Topanga were on the edge of their seats to open it.
The first thing Topanga pulled out was the jean jacket when they first said their I love you's between her and Cory.
That gave Farkle an idea for what to put in the time capsule.
The other stuff was Shawn's stuff. Even stuff from when he fell in love.
The memories came back to the three.
They realized if it wasn't for each other,
they wouldn't be able to enjoy life as it is.
