On Monday, the school was filled with excitement and anxiousness.
"What's going on?" Riley wondered, bewildered as to why the school was unusually rowdy. It shocked her seeing how the school was filled with uproar since the students usually weren't like this.
"The school's first formal dance is on Friday! Everyone is excited cause it's a guys ask girls. Which means, they have to put some thought into it." Maya exclaimed to Riley. Riley just nodded in response.
"I see." Riley admitted, biting her upper lip. Suddenly, she felt two arms wrap around her waist. She turned around to see Farkle by her side, smirking.
"Hey sunshine." Farkle greeted, causing Riley to giggle a little.
"Hey my little goofball." Riley greeted back, kissing him on the lips.
"I have something to ask you." Farkle said to her, after Riley and him pulled away.
"What is it?"
Farkle bowed on one knee, smirking. At first Riley thought he was proposing.
"Farkle?!" Riley wondered, confused. She was smiling. She wasn't so sure about marriage yet. He pulled out a box, and opened it, revealing a note. Riley took the note from outside of the ring box, unfolding it so she could read the note.Riley Matthews, will you have the pleasure of making this goof happy by taking him to the dance with me on Friday?
She noticed that there was a corsage in it as well.
Farkle just smiled wider, as Riley's smile turned into a grin.
"Yes Farkle!" She answered at last, and she jumped into Farkle's arms, hugging him tightly.
Never before in Riley's life, has a guy done this for her. It made Riley feel special and grateful to have such a gentleman for a boyfriend.
For Farkle, he was definitely glad that the woman of his dreams said yes. He thought he could come up with better ones, but he thought the idea he had came up with as of a dance proposal was good enough.

When Thursday came, Riley and Maya decided to go buy their dresses. Josh had asked Maya out to the dance as well too. His was something bmx related.
As Riley was picking some out,she was having a hard time trying to find one she really liked. As she tried different ones on, she felt uncomfortable and insecure in them. For example, there was a yellow dress that looked way to bright for her skin. She found this pink one that made her butt appear too big. She found a red one that seemed to be quite short and showed somewhat of her thighs. The dresses didn't seem to satisfy her at all.
For Maya, she found the one she wanted in legit seconds. It was a light blue one, although rather plain and simple, Maya appeared to look cute.
Riley just buried her head in her hands, disappointed. Once Maya saw, she went to go comfort her disappointing friend. She rubbed her back a little, trying to calm her down.
"I'm sure you'll pick one Riley. Either way, Farkle will love you." Maya reminded, and Riley just nodded. Riley tried to regain some hope, in which she was glad she had done so.
In the corner of her eye, Riley spotted a sea foam colored dress with sparks at the waist. Now that was her type of dress.
She headed there to grab it, and went to try it on. Once she slipped it on, she looked right in the mirror. Riley seemed satisfied with it. It was the perfect match!
Riley decided to get some nice dress shoes with somewhat of a heel. She found a silver pair, thinking it was good enough.
She realized, that she was ready for this dance to come.
~
For Farkle and Josh, they bought themselves suit and ties. Once both girls told them the color of their dress, they got themselves a bow to match.
When the day of the dance came, Farkle was a little nervous. He was thinking of questions in his head that just blew out of proportion like for instance:
What if I spill punch all over Riley's dress?
What if I suck at dancing and embarrass myself in front of her?
Just what if?
~
For Riley, as she was getting ready, she thought the same questions as Farkle. Since she was wearing heels, what if she tripped over Farkle's shoes accidentally and fell to the floor right on her face? What if her dress ripped for some reason? Boy would that be embarrassing.
Riley tried to make the thoughts go away like some sort of thunderstorm; as if she was Mother Nature making all of the decisions.
She did so by curling her hair into tiny wavy strands like some sort of curly fry. She added some makeup, not a whole lot cause she didn't want to appear as what people would call a slut.
For lip gloss, she added a light pink one. She smacked her lips, making both lips filled with the shined gloss equal as she possibly could.
Suddenly, her bathroom door opened, revealing her mom.
"Hey sweetie. Look how gorgeous you look." Topanga noted, setting both hands on the back of Riley's shoulders. Riley just smiled at her mom's compliment, staring right into the mirror. Her mom pecked her on the cheek, and the two headed out into the living room.
Riley had a hold of her phone, just in case Farkle was to text her saying he was here.
Once Cory caught a glimpse of his daughter for the dance, he couldn't help but smile. He fretted about her going, but hey, he trusted Farkle. Farkle would never hurt Riley. Not even once.
Riley saw that her dad was staring, and Cory went to Riley.
"You look beautiful as always Riley." Cory complimented. Riley smiled, then hugging her dad. He pecked her on the top of her forehead, then held his daughter for a long time, until the doorbell interrupted their hug. Riley pulled away, so she could greet Farkle.
She went to go open the door, and she was astonished. Farkle stood there in his suit and tie, looking handsome as could be. His hair was a bit different. His hair was greased up so that way there wasn't a bunch of hair in his face.
"Hey there Riley. You look absolutely stunning." Farkle complimented her, and Riley just blushed.
"Thank you Farkle. And you look just like the handsome prince I've always thought you were." Riley flirted, causing Farkle to grin.
"See you guys later." Cory said, smiling at the couple. This reminded him of the time he went to prom with Topanga. Him showing up at her front door, standing there in awe once he saw her in her burgundy colored prom dress.
"Bye Dad. Bye Mom! Bye Auggie." Riley waved goodbye to them, as she stepped out into the hallway from the outside of the apartment with Farkle.
The two walked to the dance together.
Riley's feet were killing her. Although she regretted wearing heels, it was worth it. She was going to have a fun time with her boyfriend. That's all what mattered to her.
Right when they arrived, they saw Josh and Maya, who saw them as well.
The couples greeted each other, and headed to a random hangout spot.
The song Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson was blaring out of the speakers, everyone basically break dancing for right now. There was flashing colored lights flashing on the dance floor, which was pretty cool to see.
Josh and Maya were dancing close to each other, jumping near each other. Farkle and Riley began to do the same, having fun with each other.
After the song was over, the song Focus by Ariana Grande was playing. The students danced to that too, until it was over.
Now Riley was feeling exhausted.
"Riley! You look as if you're out of breath. Want me to get you a glass of punch?" Farkle offered her.
"I'd like that Farkle." Riley said, and he went to go fetch her a glass of punch. He came back eventually with two glasses; one for him, and one for Riley.
Riley took a sip of hers, and went to go set it on a random table. Same with Farkle.
After that, Riley felt a little bit better and was in the mood to dance again. She got a hold of Farkle's arm, the two dancing once again. It was so fun, being able to spend a moment like this dancing all night.
Riley was tired again, and decided to go sit. This gave Farkle the chance to suggest a song for the dj, while Maya was distracting her.
"Hey dj, can you please play Wildest Dreams by Taylor Swift?" Farkle requested him.
"Sure thang chicken wang." The dj promised him, and Farkle just furrowed his eye brows in confusion, but shrugged. Farkle instantly headed to Riley. He came just in time too, cause the dj announced that anyone in a relationship, get ready for the next song.
"Riley, this ones for you." Farkle says, getting a hold of both of her hands.
Riley stood there for a moment, as the intro for wildest dreams began to play. Riley grinned.
"This is my favorite song Farkle. Did you-"
"Yep. I requested it for you." Farkle responded. Riley just smiled, as Riley wrapped her arms around his neck, with Farkle's around her waist.
She leaned close to him, burying her head in Farkle's chest. The two slow danced, keeping their embrace warm and comfortable as possible. Riley even chanted along to the lyrics, in a sing-along melodic voice, which sounded so soothing to Farkle's ears.
~
As much as they would of liked it this way, however, the dance went by fast. Farkle and Riley both longed for it to be short.
Since Riley's feet hurt from dancing and she was starting to feel drowsy, Farkle decided to pick her up, carrying her home.
Farkle knocked at the Matthew's door, in which Topanga answered.
"She was tired." Farkle whispered, and she nodded. She allowed Farkle to walk in and carry Riley all the way to her bed. He headed to her bedroom, and rested Riley gently on her bed. He took off her heels, placing them in her closet. He covered her up with the blankets, and kissed her forehead good night. He sat by her for a while, watching her sleep.
She's such an angel, Farkle thought to himself. He then decided it was getting late; he was going to worry his parents if he didn't come home eventually.
So he turned off the light, sneaked out of Riley's bay window, and into the dark, late night.
