Chapter 46- Looming Shadows

'As the faithful Promised Day loomed over the New Year, the ones who refuse to become victims of this destiny have begun preparations of the outcome. Their plans have lead up to this as spring was upon them. Ready or not, the promised day would soon arrive.'

'If you're planning a way around this on your own, then why bother? You need help with this, now don't you. We both know that when it comes to stuff like this, it's just hopeless.'

My eyes shot open as a gasp brushed out my lips. The movement and sounds of rolling continued under my body which made me let out a deep breath. It shocked me that I'm not going through motion sickness, but then again, we practiced this course of action for 2 weeks. If I was having that sickness we'd be in the dog house. Heh, military joke, who would have guessed? The movement under me stopped which made my head perk up slightly. "Hey Athena, we're here."

I sighed happily and tried my best to readjust my arms. "Finally. I wanna get out of this damn suitcase."

Dad chuckled slightly and continued his path. "You never fail to make me laugh Athena."

"You owe me big. A nice long nap with do JUST FINE! With some fresh clothes." I yelled only to make my ears hurt. Damn suitcase.

"And a nude boyfriend with you." He finished.

"And a nude boooo-" I slurred the last part now realizing what was about to escape my lips. A blush burnt on my cheeks as I glared at inside of the suitcase. "Oh you son of a-" Dad's sudden knocking made me shut up quickly and bite my tongue.

The silence was killing me until I heard a door open. A gasp was released right after the loud creak that was made. "Marcus? What are you doing here; I thought I left you in the North." I heard a voice I couldn't believe speak. It belonged to Hate.

"Can I not come in?" Dad asked while I imagined the expression on his face. I assumed that it was a smug look with his eyebrow raised. There was a silence as the movement continued for a little while as I was set down on the ground. "I came for some repairs."

"Repairs?" Hate grunted. "Hey Winry, Smith! Get in here!"

My eyes widen when I heard this. Winry and my brother were here? I heard two people gasp loudly after footsteps appeared. "What are you doing here?!" Smith exclaimed loudly now enraged.

"Who is this?" Winry asked quietly.

Smith grunted. "Marcus, you don't have automail for me to repair or upgrade. So do what you need to do and leave!"

I banged on the wall of the suitcase in the best way I can with a yell. "Hey! You should be thankful ya know! Without him you won't be here and neither would I! Now I want out! Like now!"

Dad chuckled slightly. "As you wish, sweet pea."

"Hate you just said..." Smith whispered in a gasp.

"Are you kidding me? She's-" Hate exclaimed in shock. When the door opened I sat up and stretched and quickly stepped out.

"Athena!" The three gasped as Winry and Smith locked me in a huge bear hug. The two asked me question after question after question which made my head start to ache madly. "Are you okay? Where have you been? How have you-"

I forced myself out of the hug with a breathless look. "What was that huge hug for? I may understand a little but I could have died."

Smith and Winry looked down slightly as Hate bit her lip and went pale. "I went to look for you after the explosion and you weren't there. So, I assumed the worst..." Hate confessed in a bitter tone.
