Chapter 50: Upheaval in Central

Sam's POV

"The only one we need alive is Mustang, kill the rest!" The man demanded. I glared at him darkly not even removing my finger from the gun's trigger. There's no way their getting this gun! They have to get it out of my dead cold hands! Before any bullets could be shot from the men in front of us, wounds opened up on their legs, feet, anything with a loud bang. They yelled in pain while man in command was unharmed. That, my friends is why you never mess with Mustang's team! I looked up and saw men from Grumman's command above with guns in hand. A smirk played my lips and my stare became devious.

As Charlie walked in I lifted my gun to the man and walking forward. "So you said you only need my brother alive, because I highly doubt you need a soldier like me alive. But you meant the Fuhrer's wife to be killed as well, am I correct?" I looked over my shoulder and saw the Fuhrer's wife almost crying. In either fear, or just sheer depression. To be honest I don't blame her. If I was in her position then I'd be crying too. I hate to admit that Roy and I were right about this.

No one should order someone to kill another person. It's wrong, people's hands get dirty. Much like mine. When someone tells me to do such a thing my hands become more than dirty, I feel like there's blood on my hands just from the thought. "Does this mean... Does this mean that my husband... Has our country betrayed... Or is it... That my husband chosen to abandon me?" The woman stuttered in a whimper.

I looked over to Roy and nodded. He should be the one to help her this time around. It's only natural for me, honestly. He walked over to her and knelt down to her level. "I don't know... But no matter which one, I promise we will protect your life. Once the dust has settled, you can be the one to tell our country that we were always on their side."

The woman looked down now getting even closer to breaking down into tears. Again, don't blame her at all. I looked out the window and saw that more men were coming after us. "Tch..." My voice coming off as an annoyed scoff. "Backup's coming, let's move!"

Everyone ran out as the man was left with Charlie. "Your lucky we're not from Briggs. This would be a kill shot." He muttered before shooting his foot. As he screamed in pain we the room cleared and we walked down the halls. Charlie was to my right and Roy was to my left. "Colonel, Lieutenant, it's been a while." He greeted.

I smirked slightly and kept my eyes narrowed on the path ahead. "Yeah, nice work by the way."

"I expected Grumman." Roy pointed out not even sparing us a single glance.

"He's sorting out the wreckage." Charlie answered doing the same as Roy. Not even sparing a glance. What is up with men from the military!? I swear I need a boyfriend. "And while we're already on that topic, have you told Mrs.Bradley?"

I shook my head. "Nah, I don't think it'd be quick for us if she passed out by the news..." I answered simply.

A man looked down the hall and then back to us. "Geeze, you sure are popular."

"Yeah I would like to think so." Roy muttered in a sly tone now walking down the military filled halls casually. My eyes narrowed on him as if he were an idiot. Before I could stop him he snapped his fingers making sparks of fire blast through the halls. The men screamed and ran down the halls like fire ants at the fire. That man is still gonna be reckless isn't he. He'll never learn obviously.

When making it outside I decided it was about time for me to use these babies. Oh yes, my alchemical gloves of course. I snapped my fingers making sparks of electricity to dance across the ground. Someday I might make alchemical bullets. That'll be the day were I decide to make the greatest invention in the world!!! But I'm getting to excited. Maybe it's the adrenaline rush I'm getting.
