I never get why in books there is always a player, and every single girl in the school is infatuated with him.
Ok, first, girls aren't naive. Like books and movies need to address this because it seems like every other story is of some bad boy/player and all the girls blindly fall for him.
Second, not all girls have the same taste in guys, and there's no way the whole school population would fall for some guy who plays around with girls (again, we aren't stupid). Just because this guy is really attractive, doesn't mean we will immediately fall in love with him. Love at first sight is just not realistic (for most people).
