Rowing Day 4

So today the theme was Dark, Light, and Port Side. I just ended up wearing a dark blue rowing shirt from 2013. Rowing was fun.

We started by throwing a beach ball around that had questions written on it. My question was: Do you collect anything? I said no. Do you guys collect anything?

Then we went out into the boats. We worked on a little more on ratio and feathering and straight arm rowing. We also learned how to sit in a shell. You have your outside hand holding under the oar and your inside hand over the oar that is holding onto the boat. And while you are doing this, your oar is feathered. That means it is flat on the water.

We also learned how to join the others when they are rowing. Basically at the bow of the boat you start the count down up to eight since there are eight seats in a shell. Then the stern pair(#7+8) start to row. Then the coxen(the person who steers the boat in the barge) tells the other numbers to join in or to stop rowing.

Then after rowing we went onto the ergs and just tries to work on going slow up the slide and putting your arms out really fast once you get to the finish.

When we got out the other group a.k.a. Rocket 8 were talking about the Harry Pitter Series. They were discussing whether the 3rd book was good or the 7 or 5. Idk. I don't know anything about Harry Potter, but I might read the series but idk yet.

Favorite Star Wars Character- I said I didn't know because I don't know anything about Star Wars😅
