"What would you like sweetie?" "Mac and cheese." Alyssa answered Kate. After they ordered their food, Rick asked, "so what brings you into town?" "Well it's Alyssa's 4th birthday tomorrow and my dad wanted to celebrate it with us. We are staying for 2 weeks." "Oh that's great. Happy early birthday Alyssa." He said to Alyssa and she smiled. Rick and Kate continued to catch up and had small talk. After lunch was over, Rick told Kate they were both welcome to go back to the loft with him. "Yeah that'd be nice. I would like to see Martha and Alexis and catch up with them." They took a cab over and once they went in, Kate noticed some things were different- furniture, decorations, and among other things. "You've done a nice job with redecorating." She told him and he smiled. "Kate?" Martha said walking toward her. "How are you?" She asked. "I'm good, how are you?" "I'm great. And who is this little one?" "This is Alyssa." Alyssa waved at Martha. They chatted for a while and got to catch up after all those years. Alexis got home about a half hour later. "Hey dad." She said walking through the door with her boyfriend, Alexander. "Hey Alexis." Kate said. "Oh my gosh, Kate. I haven't seen you in so long." They all introduced themselves and caught up. Rick gave his daughter a look as if to say that he wanted some alone time to talk to Kate. Alexis just nodded, knowing what her father was trying to say. "Alright, Alyssa. You wanna come with me and Alexander? I'll show you some of my toys I used to play with when I was your age." Alyssa smiled and followed the red head and her boyfriend. Martha had already left to go to the grocery store to get ingredients for dinner. "Kate, can we talk?" He asked. He wanted to tell her the reason why he cheated on her all those years ago. "Yeah sure. What about?" She said to him and they both went to sit on his new leather couch. "Why I cheated on you all those years ago." "Rick, we don't need to go down memory lane. It's in the past and I forgive you." "Thank you Kate but I still need to tell you." He said to her and she just nodded, knowing he wanted to get this off his chest. "Okay well I did it because Gina blackmailed me. I know it was a stupid thing to do and I'm really sorry. I still love you Kate. I always have." He said and then took a deep breath. He took her hand and kissed it, "would you give me a second chance?" She couldn't help but smile. "Rick, I still love you, too. Of course I'll give you a second chance." Their lips met and sparks flew, just as they did before. "It's just like I remembered." Kate said, after they pulled away for air. "I've missed you so much" Rick said to Kate, as they rested their foreheads against one another's.

The next day, Rick, Kate and Alyssa spent the day together and by the end of it, they went back to the hotel they were staying at. They had ordered room service and had dinner together. Alyssa fell asleep on the way there so Kate put her in the bed right when they got there. Kate knew she had to tell Rick the truth, especially since they were back together. "Rick, we need to talk." She said and tears started to form in her eyes. "Kate, what's wrong?" "Please don't hate me." She said. "Kate, I could never hate you." "No you will once I tell you." He put his hand on her knee. "Alyssa is our child. I found out I was pregnant after you cheated on me. I didn't tell you because I was so upset with you." Rick took his hand off her knee and looked at her with anger in his eyes. "Rick, I'm so sorry." " Why didn't you tell me when you first found out? After everything we have been through." "I was angry at you for cheating on me. I had thought you had moved on. I'm so sorry, Rick." "Oh, so that makes it okay? I told you I had broke things off with Gina. I also told you back then that I was sorry for what I did and that I wanted you back. We have a daughter who doesn't even know who her father is. I've missed 4 years of her life. This is one of the worst things you have ever done to me." Rick said, getting up from the couch and headed toward the door. "Please don't leave Rick." "And why not? I need some time alone, away from you." "Can we please just talk about this?" He just ignored her and then he left.
