Brock's POV

Evan has decided to deem me worthy of the new comer's welcome.. Which is ironic considering I am the most awkward. Not exactly shy, but 'Brockward' as my brothers would say. I had been really looking forward to warm ups and practice before school, it has always been my favorite part of the day. Hopefully, this half-blood will be easy to sniff out.

I made my way along Taurus highschool's entrance, idling with a bored face, watching the sunny sky only get darker as rain began. Typical, living in a humid area with daily cast over benefited the pack, but it was nice to get some warmth every now and again.

Even through the heavy scent of on-coming rain; I sensed her wicked but unique pheromones. Engulfed me into an arousal I couldn't comprehend. I haven't even seen her face but I sighed in annoyance, this was to be expected. A female half-blood coming into our territory, we all might have to adjust cautiously and accordingly.

I lifted myself up from the bench and strode to the junior girl whose scent drove me crazy and almost feral. Her dark hair was up in a messy bun with lightly tanned yet glowing skin, she wore an ebony over-the-shoulder/long sleeve sweater with a slated-short skirt and Ugg boots. Very pretty, short, and utterly feminine it would seem.

"Hey.." I stated, grabbing her attention, she'd look up and her large green eyes widened. She knew what I was, I could see it in her astonished expression that my own scent welcomed her.

"U-Uh.. Hey.."

"My name is Brock.. I was told to greet you." I was not interested in small talk, especially since I was in a rush to get the hell out of here and I naturally talked slow.

"Uhm.. I–"

"C'mon. I'll show you to the principle and we will get your schedule."

"So.. What's your name."

"Oh, well.. uhm, Deidra."

"Deidra? Oh, that's.. Nice, I suppose."

She followed me towards the west wing, silence strong as we would just examine each other's body language. Finally, opening a door to meet Tyler's dad who glanced up and welcomed us.

"Deidra! I have heard a lot about you.." She must've recognized him as her own kind.

"Y-Yeah.."

"I have your schedule right here. Brock will make sure you get to your classes."

"Thank-you, Principle Smith." I glanced at her, she had turned to leave, expectant of me to follow.

"Deidra.."

"H-Huh?" She turned back around, confused.

"Brock and his brethren are your new family. I will expect to you behave like such.." His tone turned serious, and his eyes almost threateningly dark. I blinked in response. Of course, it is very important to know boundaries and keep order. It could save someone's life.

Her gaze glanced down, studying the floor and understanding his concepts. I simply was relieved everything had been laid upon the table with no hesitation.

"O-Of course, Thank-you."

I signaled her to follow me, the tension between us completely gone as we now had the unspoken understanding of each other. We glided down the halls, drifting through the rows of lockers.

"Pick what locker you want. "

"What?"

"..." I stayed quiet, I knew she heard me.

"I... mean.. I can choose?"

I stayed quiet a little bit longer, Deidra didn't comprehend that we ran this place with a free pass, and that our main focus was to be a family of almost extinct werewolves over any and all academic regulations.

"Listen... you are welcomed as one of us, so let's just say you get benefits that most students don't receive." I gave her a rare yet genuine smile, happy to have her as my sister. In which actually, brightened up her face a bit.

"O-Oh... W-Well.. Where is your locker, Brock?" ...Oh boy, I will be regretting this decision later.

"C'mon, I'll show you."
