Hermione sat alone, surrounded by rubble and dust. Her clothes were tattered and torn, her skin was cut, bruised and covered in dirt but she didn't care. All that she could think of was why him? As the tears rolled down her cheeks she couldn't bare the pain in her tight chest. Somebody she had never met, had become her worst enemy in the moment they took him away. She hadn't even noticed that somebody had sat next to her until they wrapped a strong arm around her shoulder
"Why did they have to die?" she managed to get out
"I don't know 'Mione I don't know" said a smooth deep voice. She looked up and saw a familiar be speckled boy with a lightning scar. She smiled weakly at him, he'd been so very brave. He had killed the dark lord, destroyed the horcruxes. He had a relationship with Ginny and he was happy for them, but while she was hurting she hated the idea that there could be other happy couples still in the world. Then again she had just lost the live of her life, her one destiny and her soul mate. How could she survive without that? How could she survive without Fred Weasley?
