"It'll get better Hermione, I promise" said Ginny sitting in the grass beside her

"But how? How can it get better? I don't want to live anymore if he isn't here. He was the only thing I had left..." she whispered

"That's not true" muttered Ginny "You still have me and Harry and Ron and all your friends"

"But it's just not the same anymore. I miss him so much Ginny, i'd give anything to get him back just so I could tell him how much he meant to me"

"He knew how much he meant to you, whenever you weren't around all he ever talked about was how much he needed you there"

"It's not the same though? I never told him to his face, never showed him, it's like I'm living in a nightmare. I just want to wake up in his arms like it used to be"

Ginny wasn't a stubborn girl, she new she couldn't go on. The happiness she felt with Harry was what Hermione had felt with Fred. It pained her to think what it would be like to have that ripped away from her. She hugged her friend tightly, like a mother would to her child. She ran her fingers through her hair soothingly, telling her that it was alright though in her head it was not

"I promise you 'Mione that everything will be ok. Whatever the path that you take. Your smart, funny, polite, pretty and the kindest person I've ever met, remember that...." she whispered before kissing her forehead and leaving. Hermione knew what Ginny was saying, she knew what path to take. She drew her wand, summoning some parchment and a quill. She began to write a short note in messy and rushed writing. When finished she pointed the at her heart, casting a silent spell she had learnt many years ago. She didn't fight the tiredness that overcame her, nor did she when her heart beats slowed. Her body fell as the last breath left her and her eyes closed for the final time.
