Hermione couldn't take this much longer. She desperately tried to pull herself up but it was no use. She was exhausted from crying and just life. She laid down in the grass hoping to fall asleep and in due time she did..

*DREAM/FLASHBACK*

"Stupefy" she shouted sending another death eater away. All around her chaos and havoc happened. The stench of dead bodies and blood filled the air and evidently her nose. Curses flew in every direction in a multitude of colours

"LOOK OUT!" a voice called and she turned to see a green light hurtling towards her. There was no way to escape now she thought to herself. She braced herself for the pain of death to take her away with its icy cold fingertips but it never did. Instead when she opened her eyes she saw a body falling to the ground in front of her. The death eater that had thrown the curse fell dead a few seconds later by another curse, but all Hermione could think about was the person in front of her. She knelt down quickly taking their hand in her own...Fred? His pale skin coated in dirt showed few signs of the once freckles and his ginger hair fell wildly. In his last moments of life he looked to Hermione with loving eyes, using all his strength to hand her a small box and note. His eyes began to close and she could do nothing but hold him close and kiss his freezing lips. She moved away and saw his eyes closed completely

"No" she whispered "Fred wake up! FRED!" she cried out in the chaos. She shook his body but his eyes did not open "NO!"she screamed "Don't you dare leave me Fred Weasley...please don't leave me alone" she cried into his hair. She gripped tighter as she felt Ron and Harry trying to pull her away. After struggling she gave up knowing they were too strong and let them take her away. She saw George and Percy taking their brothers limp body away, before she lost all sight of him.

And so Hermione was left surrounded by rubble and dust as everyone celebrated. Yet she could not understand how everyone was so happy when so many had died. It was a waste of life, so many promising young witches and wizards lives had been cut short. She put her hands in her pockets as the whispering breeze blew past her. That's when she felt it. A small square item and a piece of paper which she hastily pulled out and began to read

"Dear 'Mione,

If your reading this then I'm dead. I'm sorry I failed you, but I couldn't watch you die and then have to live with it. I knew I would die tonight but I so wish I had seen you earlier to tell you this :you mean the world to me. You were everything I ever needed in life and more. You lit up my day when I saw your gorgeous smile and heard your melodic voice. Yes, so we may have argued but they were stupid and pointless and cannot be remembered. I love everything about you, from your wild hair down to your love of books. When you went away I missed you so much, hell I was ready to come after you. I wish I had now....

What I'm trying to tell you is that if I had never died today I would have told you I loved you so many times to make up for never truly telling you and I would tell you that we would spend our lives together growing old with our own children and grandchildren beside us. I'd ask you to marry me. And although I cannot tell you this in person here me now

I love you Hermione Jean Granger and would always have wanted to spend my life with you so will you marry me?

I'll love you always and forever

Fred Weasley

(PS: the rings in the box) "

Hermione had tears flowing from her eyes as she opened the box and gasped. It was a beautiful ring made of silver that had two bands twisting together with the words engraved "Forever and Always" on it and a small jewel embedded on it. She slid it on her finger, knowing it was what Fred wanted...

*END OF DREAM/FLASHBACK*

She sat up with a start thinking he was there. He wasn't....she knew what she had to do know and summoned a piece of parchment and a quill.
