Vic's POV

I was truly at a loss. I felt awful that her mother had single-handedly abandoned her like that. From the way she used to talk about her, you'd think they were inseperable. I guess I was wrong.

The clock flashed 10:30 and I tightened my arms around her, not wanting to wake up just yet. She had (reluctantly) agreed to meet my parents last night, so I told them We'd be around at about 3.

I took her hand in mine and pulled her body tightly to my chest, resting my chin on her head and passing out for maybe a half an hour more.

"Vic?" Her sleepy voice cut through the silence of the morning next to me. I lazily responded a "Hmm?" And tightened my grip on her, snuggling closer to her warm body. She let out a giggle and shoved at my chest while I still didn't open my eyes.

"It's 12:30. We should get up." She bothered me, not moving from the bed either.

"I just wanna lay here with you all day." I complained, tilting my head and placing kisses in various places on her body. She squirmed from underneath me and then I felt her lips on mine, a familiar warmth shooting through my veins.

Me too, but I have to meet your parents remember?" She grinned at me, rolling on top of me and laying her hands on my chest. I let out a short sigh and chewed on the inside of my cheek. I hoped they liked her. Something in my mind quietly whispered they would; after all, she was difficult not to love.

"Come on babe." She climbed off of me and tugged on my hands. I let out a groan of protest but shifted off the bed and, reluctantly, headed to my closet to get dressed.

While Cara headed to the bathroom, I pulled out my phone and dialled the home phone number I was so familiar with. The familiar voice of my mother soon picked up.

"Hey mom," I managed to get in before she gushed her hellos to me.

"Ma -- MA!" I interjected before she could get too carried away. She broke off with an apologetic laugh. "Are you guys home today?" I asked her.

"It's Sunday, of course we are." She informed me in her soft voice layered with the spanish accent I was so familiar with.

"Can I stop by? There's someone I want you both to meet." I couldn't keep the grin off my face as I thought about my parents meeting Cara; they would love her, I was sure of it.

"Meet?" I could hear the excitement in her voice. I checked behind me to make sure Cara hadn't yet entered the room.

"We've been dating for a little while actually. I think you're gonna like her ma." I heard her squeal over the phone and heard her call to my dad in spanish in the background.

"You have a girlfriend? Is she nice? I bet she's pretty. Vic, you better treat her right..." I let her lecture on while I laughed silently to myself; this was the only reason I didn't want Cara around for this call: the lecture.

"I am ma, I swear. I gotta go get ready, we'll be over around three. Love you." We said our goodbyes and I slid the phone back into my pocket, picking out a few things to wear and then getting ready for the day.
