Hi~ I will showing how to making a simple yet really nice cover with advices I can provide in graphic makings. I will label this as beginner level but anyone can do it really.

I make my graphics by using my phone, a Samsung Galaxy S6. I mainly use the Pixlr, Phonto and rarely Picarts as my editing apps.

Bend your creativity and don't simply slap texts on a random image with random fonts.

1. Pixlr

I open Pixlr and use my template which is a normal Wattpad cover size of 512x800. I search up 'pale pink background' (not so pale though wtf) and used Double Exposure (first bottom icon > third icon).

2. Placing my render

I used Double Exposure again and place my anime girl onto the cover. (Finding anime images of character without background is simple, just search a particular character or enter 'anime girl' and ending it with the word, render on Google. Make sure you view the image ( and not just instantly save it) from it's website to check if it's blurry or not). I then save the cover before heading to Phonto to add my words.

3. Phonto

After saving my cover, I head to Phonto to place my words. Don;t worry what kind of font I used now since I will show you my favourites fonts at the end.

Tips:

-It's best to make to colour your title to match your cover overall

- Know the difference between cursive, serif and san-serif fonts

- Know how to space out words depending on the cover's space

- Does the font compliment your cover overall

- Golden rule: Don't ever use more than 3 kinds of fonts on one cover

Note: You tell from the word, 'edits' is spaced out to match the word, 'random'

Note: You tell from the word, 'edits' is spaced out to match the word, 'random'. This can be achieved by finding the spacing setting when hitting 'style' and therefore adjusting spacing setting.

4. Back to Pixlr

After saving the image from Phonto, I headed back to Pixlr. All I did was simply used a light ray effect I found on DeviantArt and using Double Exposure with the effect, Softlight to give it that nice lighting effect. Now the cover is done :)

Hope that helped guys!

Also if you prefer using Picarts as your main editing app you can used the shape, the rectangle with using the stroke only in order to set it as your border (remember to set the size small so the border aren't thick) if you like. This will give it a nice touch just like this. (This one was rushed and ignore the fonts I don't really like it since it kind of ruined the cover :/)
