My palms are sweating as I grip the steering wheel.
I pull over at John Quincy Adams Middle School, where we had gone for middle school.
I park, and pull my phone from my pocket.

Maya, I need you. Please come back.

What? She read it?

I'm here. JQAMS.

JQAMS. John Quincy Adams Middle School?
Dad had given me the keys to the school before I left.
Maya would've gotten in by breaking in.
I approached the building, my hands trembling with fear as I stepped in.
"Maya?" My voice echoed in the halls.
"Peaches?" I say.
Where in the world could she be?
Then it had hit me.
The classroom.
I run to my father's old room where he used to teach. I see a bright blonde figure in the middle of the room.
My heart pumps louder.
I open the door shakily as I face the blonde girl.
"M-Maya?" I ask.
"Hey there, Riles." The blonde girl replies.
"Maya!" I exclaim, running towards her. I don't realize my arms fling around her until it actually happens.
"I missed you so much, peaches." I say. I'm crying at this point.
"Me too."
"Why didn't you come back? Why... Why didn't you text?" I ask, breaking the hug.
"I don't know. I felt the need to run away and I just don't know why." She begins. "But I remembered life here. I wanted to see what you would do to see me again."
"Maya..." I say, "I'd do anything."
