wallow in my sorrows
these are the concoctions of teeth
(every syllable uttered scrapes my throat)
(my anguished cries are cut short with swollen tongues)

in a thousandth of a second
you have forgotten thy name
(i have not forgotten how you drowned yourself in old poetry)
(words are a labyrinth i cannot determine, you have left me with nothing)

my heart no longer gambols;
as it no longer feels your warmth
(oh, do you belong in the depths of icy space?)
(i stir the shimmering stew of the milky way with the tips of my fingers in a desultory fashion)

my mouth is palimpsest of your taste
my thoughts an eternal memorial of your name, drenched in petrichor.
(i gift fragmented flowers onto your haunting grave site, where your half-shadow ghost taunts me)
(i pray the feel of my love lingers in your veins, alas, god is not a panacea tonight)

with my wishes fallen on deaf ears
and the transgression of love to emptiness complete; i weep.
(my tears drip through my broken finger bones and pool under the blisters of my feet)
(the goddess of your reflection smiles dashingly at me from the puddle of my misery)
