Chapter 3.

As the school day went by, Ruby couldn't help but daydream about a certain young man her mother would surely scold her for. With a heaving sigh, she gathered her books and waited silently for the bell to finally ring.

She secretly hoped her daydreaming wouldn't lead to anything more, meaning some sort of infatuation. Sheila openly stared after her best friend, wondering why she hadn't sprung from her seat as soon as the bell had sounded.

Awaiting the right moment, Sheila ran, and slammed her books right beside Ruby's wandering mind, consequently ruining her best friend's trail of thought.

Ruby let out a gasp, and glared at Sheila. "just so you know, I was enjoying my little day dream"

Sheila was quick to reply; "and I was enjoying waiting for your slow ass to move!" Ruby shot her questioning glance, which she received an answer for- "you're my ride home- duh."

Muttering a string of curse words at her and her infuriating antics, Ruby stood up and pushed by leading a trailing Sheila to the car.

They were best friends, and were definitely used to random setbacks, so the car ride home was completely normal. They belted out to the lyrics of their favorite songs, and soon, Ruby was cruising on her own. Sheila had been dropped off at her boyfriend's house, which was right beside her neighborhood.

As she pulled into her driveway, she couldn't help but curiously stare at the new black vehicle parked three doors down from her house. Had someone moved into the Conner's mansion? She would surely ask her mom.

Although she was expected to arrive right away to work, she desperately needed a bath. After PE that is. For the first time, Ruby Miller couldn't help but smile on the inside as much as she was annoyed with the previous and unexpected turn of events.

As she flew by the stairs and straight into her room, Ruby grabbed her garments including her work clothes and headed for a nice warm shower, hopefully to wash away her embarrassing moment earlier on today.

She couldn't help but think back to Gym class, where she had deliberately turned a million shades of red. Running across the gym, they were told to follow a series of obstacles while running. Ruby had more than trouble following.

She had fallen head first onto a certain someone. A certain someone that made her want to scream, yet, it was a nice kind of scream -in it's own weird sense.
