LEAH MEETING LIAM

The doorbell rung and Leah yelled from the kitchen "I'll GET IT". I ran down the stairs and stood behind her while she opened the door, as it swung open I couldn't help but feel a certain discomfort in the pit of my stomach "Hey!" Leah said with excitement

"hi" Liam replied with a smile

"come on in" she grabbed his arm pulled him in and shut the door.

"hey you" he said while kissing me on the cheek

"Hey yourself" I replied back like a dork. Leah stood there metaphorically coughing and I said " oh umm Liam this is my bestfriend Leah, Leah this is Liam" he reached his hand out to shake hers but she pushed it away and hugged him I couldn't help but laugh

"It's nice to finally meet the guy putting a smile on my bff's face"

"Leah chill" I whispered but she shushed me

"No it's okay Brett..." he then turns to Leah "yes I guess that'd be me" he laughed and she joined in

"Well alrighty then why don't we head to the kitchen for some breakfast courtesy of Leah" as we head to the kitchen Liam says

"Really, what are we having? "

"Umm eggs, bacon, and buttered toast" she smiled

"Sounds delicious". As we ate Leah and Liam got to know each other and they had a lot in common, like they like the same movies, and bands. this was actually going great.

"I'll be right back" I got up and headed to the bathroom .

[CONVERSATION BETWEEN LIAM AND LEAH WHILE BRETT USES THE BATHROOM]

"So Liam you like it over here?"

"Well yeah it's very quiet, very different from what I'm use to"

"Oh ok, so when exactly did you move over here?"

He hesitated but then answered "look Leah I have to tell you something but you have to promise me you won't tell Brett"

"Ok alright I promise"

He then went on "I came here to visit where my dad grew up I was only suppose to spend like a week or two here, I never thought I'd meet Brett and I have to go back to New York on Sunday and I don't know how to tell Brett without hurting him"

Leah's jaw drops in disbelief she didn't know what to say

"Please say something"

"I can't believe this. I knew you were to good to be true.." she got up and went on "I promised I wouldn't tell him but you have to"

"I know but I care about him too much to hurt him Leah, what do I do?" Liam was clueless

She shook her head not knowing.

[BRETT COMES BACK]

I walked back into the kitchen to find Leah standing there "what's going on?" Leah jumped and scared me "Leah!" I yelled

"Oh my bad" she sat back down staring at Liam.

I sat back down, everything was so quiet and Liam awkwardly smiled at me "what's going on?" I asked again

"not much Leah and I were just swapping secrets" he said and laughed,

I didn't know if he was lying or telling the truth so I just went along "about what?" I asked with a mouth full of eggs

"You" Leah and Liam said at the same time then awkwardly laughed. After breakfast things between Liam and Leah got super awkward as in the weren't smiling, laughing, or saying anything to each other, I didn't know how to break the ice I tried playing games, TV, anything I could think and nothing they both just sat there. it was around 1pm when Liam decided it was time for him to leave

"It was nice meeting you Leah" he said while smiling at her

"Ditto" she said while giving him a cold shoulder

Then Liam turned facing me "walk me to my car?" I shook my head yes and headed for the door. when we got to his car he grabbed my hand "I had a nice time"

"I wouldn't call that a nice time"

"Why not?"

"Well because I was the only one putting effort, you and Leah basically ignored each other, I don't know what happened but that's not how you guys meeting was suppose to happen" he pulled me closer and kissed me.... I loved when our bodies touched, after a few minutes we finally parted lips "what was that for?"

"To prove that I had fun and I appreciate your effort, if Leah doesn't like me that's alright as long as you like me" I liked him, I liked him so much

"And I do but-" he cuts me off with another kiss

"But nothing, that's all I want to hear" he smiled "I'll call you ok" I shook my head and he got in his car and pulled out of the lot.

Back inside the house " what the hell happened Leah?" she had a distant look on her face "what's wrong?"

With out looking at me she asks "how much do you like Liam?" I didn't know where that came from but I truthfully answered

"So much Leah, like I've never felt this way about anyone else and-"

"That's great and all but say something happens that wouldn't change anything right?" I was so confused about what she meant

"What do you mean?"

"Look I don't want you to get hurt Brett and I'm sort of skeptical about Liam"

"That makes no sense, this morning you were all over the place to meet him and now you're what, skeptical? ....he isn't a bad person Leah"

"And I never said he was Brett but you have to be careful" she's hiding something

"What are you not telling me Leah?"

"What?! nothing I'm just trying to warn you that's all"

"No you're not Leah, something's not right and I need you to tell me what you're hiding"

She paused looked away then says "I can't"

"Why not?!" I was getting really upset

"I just can't ok, just make sure you keep your guards up around him" she then grabbed her purse and left. I didn't get it Leah's my Bestfriend and she was hiding something from me as if we've ever kept secrets from each other.
