They think I'm fine
They don't know
what I feel
When they're sound asleep at 3 a.m.
I lay curled up
in my bed
wide awake
With no one to keep me company
except my own thoughts
And those thoughts
destroy me
from the inside out
They say I'm not alone
why then
when I sit up
in the darkness
no one is around
but me
No one to talk to
but me
No one to cry to
but me
So don't tell me I am not alone
because the darkness always tells the truth
and in the darkness I know
I am alone
