we built a broken structure
but instead of trying
to tack things on to it to
fix it, like what had once
happened before, we tore it down
and built a new one, sturdy
and sound, and built it up to the skies
what we hadn't foreseen
was the storms that would fly
from our mouths
and that our tower
was too tall
to stand any longer
