I take my seat and I wait.
The rest of the families walk in; smiles on their faces.
There is no smile on my face, I am a blank page.I hear my name, so I stand and walk.
I am greeted with smiles and applause; I feel I feel proud.
I turn to look for you, but you are no where to be seen.
The smile fades.I sit and I wait.
I see in my hands a paper of proudness, but where are you?I hear my name, so I stand and walk.
I am greeted with smiles and applause; I feel I feel proud.
I turn to look for you, but you are no where to be seen.
The smile fades.I sit and I wait
I count one, two, three, four, and this one makes five.I hear my name, so I stand and walk.
This one meant the most.
It was for being a great citizen for the community and the school.
I am overwhelmed with joy, so I look out for your approval.
Where are you?
Where is that sign of proudness?
Where is that moment you smile at me?You are not there.
I don't feel proud.
You weren't there.I walk back out that door.
Now with six total.
I should feel proud. Shouldn't I?But I can't.
You weren't there.
I didn't get your approval.
The smile fades.
This night never happened.
