I was in the stands with the rest of the band, cheering the team on.
All of a sudden, I see Adrian break away with the ball, and make a touchdown, the other team's tackled forms littering the ground behind him.
The crowd goes wild, and the band plays the touchdown song. Once we're done playing, we all cheered and jumped around, making more noise than the rest of the stadium. Adrian takes his helmet off and runs around the field, stopping in front of us.
"ADRIAN! ADRIAN!" The band chants, while Adrian just stands on the field for a moment and looks us over.
When his eyes meet mine, I smile big and give him a thumbs up. He smiles back, and we hold each others gaze for what seems to be a little too long. When I blush and look down, I quickly look back up and see him smiling at me.
Then he runs back and the game continues.
