Hours passed as me and the brown eyed librarian sat with me; we spent hours researching and talking of the paranormal, and also spoke a few personal questions into the conversation.
But now it is late; and I must be getting home soon. I do have much to do before the night is broken. "Wow, would you look at the time; I am terribly sorry dear, but I must be on my way." I spoke with a apologetic tone; she could see I was being honest with her, and that I did enjoy our company together.
"Very well then; it was nice meeting you?" She begun to say only to pause; I then extend a hand to shake and respond "Adam, Adam Manes my dear."
"Adam Manes; are you in any way related to a Edward .J. Manes?" She inquires of me, as she shook my hand slowly; her question rather unsettles my once calm nerves. "That is a matter that does not concern you librarian girl. Now good night; I shall be back tomorrow to check out some books to take home. I will be studying there from now on. Good night." I announce with a bitter tone; her question has triggered something inside of me, that had been dormant for almost 10 years now.
"I am sorry if I offend you sir. It was just..." she begun to explain, but I interrupt "It is fine my dear; it is just I have to balance my goings and comings. And I see I've been spending to much time here. Good night." The reason I had given her seems to not ease her brooding mind; though I know she will only be trouble, if she knows who I truly am and who my father truly was.
I step out of the library, and turn not once to see her expression; it would only make this much much more complexed.
