Pushing myself up on the water's bank, I watch as the man steps out of the forest once again. Every other day he leaves the protection of the forest to meet with a city woman.

The forest people and city people were archenemies from the start of existence. Their fundamentals were obnoxiously different, especially since they're afraid of us woodland creatures.

I smile as they kissed. Both of them have to go through so many trials to just meet up with each other—I heard them worry over it together sometimes. The girl was risking a rich life to live with this man in the forest. I can tell by the fondness they held for each other that nothing could stand in their way.

As they travel into the forest to live out the rest of their lives, I wonder why my love goes so awry.
