A Starry Night

The stars glistened on the silky black sky. A cool breeze rubbed against my chest like a mother's protective touch.

The serverity of tomorrow thundered in my mind. Tomorrow, I would lead my company into the Goblin's Lair to assassinate their king. If this failed, a war would break out across the country. Thousands would die, actually, thousands already perished by their merciless killings. There was so much at stake....

Letting the anxious thoughts flow through, I dazed at the sparkling mountains. They rose to great heights, dancing in the sky's brilliance. A smile lightened my face and heart.

I would not fail. The mistakes that might come will not allow us to fail. Tomorrow was going to be a success; I was going to make sure of it.
