"You're a fucking werewolf?" I yell again and he hisses.

"Why don't you just let the whole damn school know?"

I drag my hands down my face with a frustrated groan. "Is that even possible?" I ask quietly.

"Uh no I think it's definitely just in your imagination," he says with a deep frown.

I glare. "You just mauled my fucking neck, so I'd stop making jokes if I were you," I snap.

He flinches. "Yeah, okay."

"So, you're half werewolf, half angel then?"

"Yeah," he sighs.

"And I'm your mate."

He nods slowly, watching me carefully.

I let out a heavy breath and bury my face in my hands. "I can't deal with this right now, I'm going back to bed, you can explain tomorrow," I decide. He starts to protest but I cut him off. "Get out Daniel," I tell him firmly, daring him to refuse with a hard glare.

He nods with a heavy sigh, reluctantly allowing me to escort him out.

I stare at the door, tapping my fingers against my side as I consider whether or not to chase after him and say I changed my mind. "Nope," I finally murmur under my breath.

I go straight to my bed. I crawl under the sheets, smiling in content as the cool silk falls over my body.

My eyes close, exhaustion pouring over me. My neck throbs and drains every last bit of my energy as it continues to burn. I lay awake for what feels like hours before finally slipping into the darkness.

I blinked slowly, taking a deep breath. My legs were shaking and I could hear my heart pounding in my ears.

My gaze wandered over the cliff before me. It was beautiful, with bright green grass and scarlet flowers. It was a long way down though.

"It's alright Luci, if you can't do it then we will catch you," my father said in a soft voice.

"Don't worry or think about anything, just let instinct take over," my mother told me, stroking my hair gently.

"Okay, I'm ready," I murmured. I took a step closer to the edge, feeling my heart race. I felt a tingling in my shoulder blades and looked behind me to see my wings quivering. I stretched them out then brought them back so they were tucked tightly against my body.

I took another deep breath and closed my eyes before stepping off the edge. My hair flew around me and the first thing I felt was fear.

But then I peeled my eyes open and fear became exhilaration. I leaned forward so that I was facing the breathtaking landscape below me. A smile crawled onto my face and I closed my eyes again, letting the feeling of the air rush past me settle in my mind. I knew I would never forget this moment.

I let my wings spread out slowly, allowing them to carry my weight through the air.

I stopped falling downwards and started gliding forward. My wings were stretched out as far as they would go and I gasped a little at the strange tingling of the wind ruffling the feathers. I could feel tears running down my cheeks as I slowly blew out a shaky breath.

"Atta girl! You did it," my mother said, flying beside me.

I looked over with a grin. "I did it."

A loud thud jars me from my slumber.

I sit up with a gasp of pain, clutching at my neck. I quickly look around for the source of the noise that woke me but find nothing but an empty room.
