Chapter Two

1st period was Chemistry with Mr. Redson.  Perfect.  I hated chemistry AND Mr. Redson, so this was going to be a wonderful start to my day.  Huh, Mr. Redson and Chemistry.  Perfect chemistry for a spontaneous combustion, if you know what I mean.

Why I hate Chemistry?  I'm simply not good at the subject.  When I hear 'chemistry', I think of a mad scientist mixing chemicals and blowing things up like an insane person.  Well, a mad scientist IS insane.  Also, Chemistry isn't interesting.  It bores me to death, to be honest.  Don't judge.  Chemistry sucks.

As I took my place at an assigned seat, a spit ball smacked my ear.  Of course, I should have expected this.....

"Hey, Gracie, wassup?" an annoying voice asked.  Joe Wilbur's  voice.  Nooo, not Joe....he's the worst. I couldn't help but think.

I refused to look at Joe, although I was tempted to glare and slap him silly.

"C'mon Gracie, start talking, sweetheart," Joe taunted, walking around my table in a circle.

My fist tightened around my new pencil, but I refused to utter a word.  I began digging out my Chemistry book from my backpack.

Thankfully, the bell rang, and Joe placed his over-sized butt back into his seat.  Class began, and the bald-headed Mr. Redson walked in.  Did I mention that is head was shiny?  It looked like he waxed it.  Huh, that's new.

"So, I don't have anything planned today, so we'll do something fun," Mr. Redson said cheerfully.

Ugh, I don't like his definition of 'fun'.

"So, Grace, how was your summer?" Mr. Redson asked, completely surprising me.

Everyone's eyes were glued onto me.  Did I mention that I was also quite afraid of attention?  I gulped, a sour lump going down my throat.  Every nerve in my body was tingling.  "Well, I went o-on a cruise to D-Disney Land," I said as loudly as I could, which was barely above a whisper.

"Let me guess.  You were so clumsy, that you fell off of the boat?" Joe asked.  Immediately, almost everyone began cracking up.  What ticked me off was that Mr. Redson was laughing too.

I didn't dare reply to Joe.  I didn't want to reply to Joe.  I never would reply to Joe's sarcastic comments.  But someday, revenge will take place, I swore.

"So, what did you do, Jake?" Mr. Redson asked, turning away from me.

Wait, who the heck is Jake? I wondered.  I didn't dare turn around to look, but curiosity was killing me.  Slowly, I turned around to see Jake Brooks sitting in the desk behind me.

Jake raked his hand through his messy, but good-looking, brown hair.  "Well, I didn't do very much but play video games and practice some football over the summer," he admitted, his gorgeous green eyes dancing.  I could swear, one of the girls, Kayla I think, began drooling over his hotness.

"Oh, that's nice," Cecelia purred, her eyes mooning over him.

"Um, thanks," Jake replied, blushing.

I inwardly groaned.  What the heck is up with girls and hot guys these days? I couldn't help but wonder.

"Cecelia, you next," Mr. Redson continued.

"Well, on the first day of summer, I went to the beach with my girls.  Then, we went to the hair salon and got our hair done, and then we went to a wild party-"

"Um, a wild party?  Aren't you still a little bit too young for that?" Mr. Redson asked, giving Cecelia a weird look.

Cecelia gave one of her famous fake laughs as she twirled her hair with her always-busy fingers.  "It was a blast.  But yeah, that's basically all I did during the summer.  Make myself look more beautiful."

Beautiful, huh?  To hell with that.  I can bet that your stupid makeup literally peels off when you remove it at the end of the day. I thought, laughing inwardly.  And it was probably true, Cecelia used up three huge makeup kits every month.  And those makeup kits were, like I said, HUGE.

The rest of the period went on with people telling about their summers.  It actually wasn't too bad, except for the fact that Joe and a few of his buddies kept flicking bits of snotty tissue at me.

By the time the bell rang, I was ready to kill someone with a beer bottle.  Yes, I know how to kill someone with a beer bottle, don't give me that look.

A/N

Well, you should know by now what to do.  XD
