Chapter 13: Is He Yours?

Author's POV

Naruto, Hinata and the princess were making good time, although what had happened earlier with Naruto was still keeping him silent for most of the walk. As Naruto noticed the sun had began to set "Hey, let's set up camp." Naruto said. The princess and Hinata just nodded there heads, as Naruto led them to an open area to set camp.

"Okay, Fuya-hime, I'm sure you have a tent with you?" Naruto asked "Of course." Fuya said taking the spare bag off "Okay..." Naruto said forming a hand sign "Shadow Clone Jutsu!" He yelled as puffs of smoke revealed three shadow clones "You two, build Fuya-himes tent... You help me collect firewood." Naruto said they all firmly nodded there heads "Hinata-chan, do you think you could see if there are any rivers nearby?" Naruto asked. Hinata was a little surprised at Naruto's preparedness "Oh... Y-Yes." Hinata said closing her eyes "Byakugan!" She said aloud opening her eyes, using her 360° vision, to zoom in each direction until 'Found one!' Hinata thought deactivating her byakugan "There's a big stream roughly fifty meters from us." Hinata said pointing to the north "Great! Than we can get water tomorrow morning." Naruto said with a grin, heading out "Where you going?" Hinata asked "Oh, I'm going to collect wood as well." Naruto said quickly before leaving, but honestly he just wanted to be alone for a little bit.

'What is wrong with me?' Naruto thought to himself, walking looking for firewood 'Why is it bothering me so much that she hit my hand away...?' Naruto kept wondering, not even making an attempt to collect wood "I mean she never had a problem before..." Naruto said rubbing he's face, the memories of the past couple of days coming back to him "It was really nice being with her..." Naruto said as her smile popped into he's mind 'Why?!' Naruto yelled inwardly, scratching he's head for an answer, for the thought of not being able to touch her was rather unpleasant to say the least. Suddenly memories of he's clone came rushing in, telling him he's clone collected the wood. Naruto looked around for some wood and picked a few good ones, seeing as how the clone picked quite a lot. Walking, the memories of the other two came back, showing that they had built the tent.

They all sat around the fire, enjoying their own meals "Say Naruto..." Fuya said putting down her bowl, as she finished her meal "*Slurp... Mm?" Naruto said while eating he's cup ramen "Sorry, but how is your hand?" She asked curious. Naruto quickly swallowed "My hand?" Naruto asked confused "Yes, your bandaged one... I've heard the stories but seeing it is quite different." Fuya said staring at he's hand. Naruto just looked at he's hand, true having half he's arm destroyed was quite something but thanks to Tsunade it wasn't a major thing "It's actually great, I don't feel any difference, dattebayo." Naruto said giving a thumbs up with he's bandaged hand. The princess just smiled "Do you think I could feel it?" Fuya asked smiling. Hinata suddenly looked toward Fuya with slightly widened eyes "Oh, sure..." Naruto said putting down he's cup ramen standing up. Fuya got up as well, but despite her boldness she was still nervous to hold Naruto's hand. Once she stood in front of him. Naruto just lifted he's hand, Fuya's heart raced as she brought her left hand to he's right one. Keeping her eyes on he's hand, as she softly grabbed it her heart seemed to still beat rapidly yet there was a warmth as well. Fuya kept he's hands as she got an idea, she than began by interlocking there hands as she grabbed Naruto's other hand. Which surprised Naruto, as she interlocked he's other hand as well. Deciding to look him in the eyes, she finally realized the position she was in. Looking into he's cerulean eyes which she got lost in, subconsciously squeezing Naruto's hand in the process, her cheeks burning up yet she wasn't so embarrassed as to hide it. Naruto also seemed to be lost in the moment, the way she looked him in the eyes, also squeezing he's hand made Naruto somewhat silent. Feeling he's cheeks heat up. Until he gave a quick glance to Hinata, who just looked away.

Hinata was surprised at Fuya's boldness and found it admirable, but that did not make it alright. Hinata watched as Fuya interlocked her fingers with Naruto's upsetting Hinata quite a bit, but her anger wasn't entirely towards the princess but also to herself. For Hinata would never have the confidence to do such a bold move. Memories of the time she held Naruto's hand in the hospital and when they went shopping came through her head, as her heart saddened looking at Naruto, but anger also welled up. 'Why can't I be with you?' Hinata thought, she then saw Naruto look her way, but quickly looked away.
