My heart was pounding when I walked into the exam hall. I found my name and sat down, my heart now threatening to burst through my chest.
“This is the Foundation Maths exam,” Miss. Hade at the front said, her nasal voice ricocheting off the stone walls. She explained the rules, and then read out the instructions on the front of the test paper in her bony hand.
“You have until 3:02. You may start.”
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart, and turned the page. Then it all went black, and I fainted.
