I have seen the horrors a man can make. I have watched people die, more times than I can count. So many years have passed since the world fell apart. After my big brother died, I wanted peace and freedom.
I prayed for both, but I was denied. So many dreams were broken and so much has been sacrificed, and here we are searching for the man with a dangerous mind.
I can taste the victory in the air, I can hear it on the screams of man and woman echoing in the tunnel as they run past us. Their faces full of fright, exposing how much all of this meant to them.
There is no more fear because I'm getting closer. We are getting closer, and we are going faster and faster for every step we take.
We stop once we get into a huge room, filled with armed cars and guards. They are packing everything they need, food, weapons, gear, simply just everything. It's their time to get burned, and all that will remain is ashes. That would blow with the wind like leaves.
It all sounds so sinister, but they took everything I cared for and now I get to watch them run, like the animals they are. There is no innocence. It's time to face their verdict. I wish I could make every heartbeat in this room stopped beating, but there is only one we need to shut down.
"There!" Loki shouts, pointing in a direction and I remember the black haired and beard man. It's his fault. The misery. The pain. I want it gone. I wiped out of my soul as if it never existed. Sometimes I wonder what kind of person I would be if I had never felt this kind of darkness.
"Come on," Loki says, dragging me by the arm, even though she doesn't need to.
Two worlds are about to collide, and one is going to burn. I don't even have to wonder how beautiful it would look like.
We crash into the crowd, trying to get through to our target. People push, shouts and I can even see some of them have tears on their faces.
As we come closer, I take out my knife from my pocket. I wished I had my sword. It would have been an honor to kill him with it.
So many talented people have been murdered with that sword, and I would be proud knowing I stab it through this man. That sword is the only thing I have left from my family.
I hold the knife tight in my hand, but just as we are only a few meters away, they start driving.
"Hurry!" Loki says as she keeps on dragging me by the arm after her. My legs want to give in, but everything else wants me to go on. We run and run, but there is no way that we can follow the car.
We stop, swallowing the fact that we lost him, they drove outside into the dark, this is not happening, we were so close. I put the knife back in place and sigh as I rub my forehead.
We stare at cars after cars as they drive past us. I don't think there is anything more annoying, then being so near and just like that it's all gone. How is it possible that it can go so fast and so easy?
Loki takes off her helmet, which doesn't matter because most of them are gone. I do it as well and watch Loki, who is trying to suppress her anger. I can't see it on her jaw when she clenches and unclenches her teeth.
I brush her messy hair back in place, and a tiny smile comes across her face. She takes my hand in hers and put a soft kiss on my skin.
The silence between us feels like just what we need. It's calm and soothing. It's been a while since I felt like that, but I wished it was in better circumstances.
The echoes of another car in the tunnels break the quietness. Loki turns to the sound with annoyance in her eyes. I wrap my arm around hers so she won't do anything stupid.
She is very vulnerable right now, so it can take the smallest amount to make a fire in her eyes. I lean my cheek on her shoulder, holding her.
The car is now in view, and it comes closer for every second. It's incredible that something like that has existed for so long and I haven't even heard about it until Loki said so. The day we saw this City for the first time.
I let go of Loki as I notice the car is slowing down. Then I reach for my knife.
"What are you standing there for!" Jacob shouts with a grin on his face.
"No way," Loki mumbles, and I smile as I see Terry behind the wheel and Kelby in the backseat.
"Jump in," Jacob says, patting the outside of the door, he seems so excited, and he has a bad cut on his cheek.
Loki takes me by the hand, and we get into the back seat with Kelby and Arkyn. I haven't seen them since I left for Loki.
"Are you two okay?" Kelby asks, and we both nod as Terry drives again so fast that I feel my body is being pushed down in the seat.
"You think you can get him?" Jacob asks Terry, who raises his eyebrow offended.
"You think I can't?" He says, and I feel the car moving even faster.
"This is going to be fun." Kelby grins.
