Link didn't know what to do at first. She obviously knew him. She was kissing him, passionately. Link felt obliged to kiss her back at first but as soon as they touched he felt a familiar connection with her. Something resonated between them; a bond that seemed to transcend time.

Once they pulled away from one another. Link felt genuinely embarrassed for not knowing her like she knew him.

"I'm sorry. I....I didn't mean to startle you. Its just been so long." She tried to explained.

Zelda was obviously embarrassed by her boldness. She could feel the heat rising to her cheeks as she looked upon a most puzzled Link.

"No...its...um..its fine." Link struggled.

They sat their awkwardly in silence for a moment before one of them broke it.

"I'm sorry but do I know you?" Link asked.

Zelda's soft smile dropped.

"You mean you don't remember me?" She inquired.

"I don't think we've ever met." Link corrected.

Zelda suddenly felt extremely hurt. Link and her had been on a journey between space and time. She waited seven years for him to appear in the Temple of Time, to save them all. She was always there beside him as Sheik. She never left him. All that time she was falling in love with him. She saw his devotion to her. She witness the hardships he endured for her. But now he seemed to have no recollection of her.

Zelda didn't know what to say. She just looked at him in confusion.

"Link its me, Zelda." She stated.

Link shook his head no and let out a frustrated sigh.

"I don't know you." He stated firmly.

"Yes you do!" She exclaimed.

"No I don't!" Link shouted.

Zelda felt an enormous amount of frustration course through her. Link couldn't have forgotten her. They had been through so much together. She loved him.

Link couldn't help but feel angry. He wasn't upset at her at all. No he was upset with himself. Something did resonate within him when he first saw her. They were connected, he felt that, and it wasn't something he could ignore.

They were quiet once more. Nothing was said.

Zelda was looking upon him gently with so much love. Link couldn't help but feel his heart flutter in his chest when she looked at him like that.

"I remember when we first met. We were both so young. You had found me in the gardens. I was so lonely back then. I was hiding from my duties I didn't want to be found. But I am so glad you found me." Zelda began as she took Link's hand.

"I don't remember. I am sorry." Link sighed.

"That's okay." Zelda sniffled.

She suddenly became overcome by her emotions.

"Please don't cry." Link begged.

"Its just I waited so long to see you again. I waited seven years for you to awaken, and then another ten once I sent you back to your own time." Zelda tried to explain.

Link wasn't able to understand what the Princess was saying. He had no memory of this. No recollection at all and it frustrated him so.

He took her hands in his and looked directly at her. This time he looked at her without fear in his eyes but with courage. He wanted to understand.

Zelda couldn't help but notice the old Link in that look. The Link that had traveled distant lands and fought numerous foes for a cause he didn't even truly understand. But that's not what he did it for then, it was always for Zelda.

"Tell me from the beginning." Link demanded.

Zelda then explained to him about their past. They talked for hours until the sun was up surely. It was a lot to take in for Link. This Hero of Time sounded nothing like him. He could never amount to someone as courageous this man Zelda was so obviously in love with. The way she spoke about him is what made Link feel so glum. He wished it was him she spoke about like that.

"But it is you she is talking about." Link reminded himself.

He felt so conflicted. He was not the Hero of Time. This he knew for a fact. He felt that if he had been through such an adventure as the Hero of Time he surely would not be the man he is now.

"You must remember something?" Zelda inquired.

"Yes." Link lied.

Zelda instantly perked up.

"I remember you....in the garden." Link lied once more.

He didn't know what he was doing. But he saw how his lies made her so happy and he just kept piling them on after that.

"Its all foggy." He lied.

"The last we saw each other I promised you we would meet again. I had felt so guilty for taking away so much time away from you that I felt that if I returned you to the past you could regain all that time that was lost to you. I wanted to give you a chance to grow up, to find me again when you were ready. I didn't think you would loose any memory of what had happened, or of me. " Zelda explained.

Link wanted to desperately remember suddenly. He wanted to know how he felt about Zelda then if what he feels now is what drove him to venture into danger for her, she obviously meant something to him.
