I loved sitting with you and your friends.
You were always interesting.
I never felt bored.
Somehow, I always found myself smiling at you and looking away when we made eye contact.
I remember that one day when you skipped school.
The table felt empty.
That day was empty.
I wished I knew where you lived. I wanted to check up on you so bad, but that didn't happen.
I had to wait until the day after that to ask you if everything was okay.
You didn't have a fever and your throat sure as hell wasn't infected.
You looked sad and for the first time in weeks, I felt sad too.
You always managed to effortlessly make me happy.
You also always managed to effortlessly make me sad.
I know you didn't mean to, but whatever you felt, I felt it ten times harder.
If you were happy, I'd be ten times happier, because I would know you were completely okay. I got to see your smile, and that, itself, made me fly.
If you were sad, I'd be ten times sadder, not just because I couldn't help you out, but also because it oddly, physically hurt me.
