When The Seconds Change

Chapter 4

That night, Barry had convinced Joe, Iris, Cisco, Hunter and Caitlin to dinner. Wally had joined them and they sat there in awkward silence. 

"So, Emely, you and Barry are still engaged, I see." Emely nodded at Iris. 

"Yeah, no matter what happens, I'll always love Barry." Barry smiled at his fiance and grabbed her hand. 

There was an awkward silence again, followed by a light conversation, and then it all went downhill when Barry finally told them the real reason he had them over for dinner. 

"We're not acting like a team, and I just wanted things back to how they were. Just fixed."

"If you wanted things fixed, maybe you and Speedy should've gone back in time and stopped my brother from dying." Emely was quiet.

"You want me to change the timeline to save Dante?" Cisco didn't look at Barry

"Why would you do that? It's not like he's your brother." Nobody said anything

Everyone's phone buzzed except for Wally's an The Flash and Speedy were needed at the boardwalk.

"Hello, Flash and Speedy." Emely gasped quietly and started to grow confused.

It was the Rival, and he somehow managed to appear in their timeline.

"Clariss?" 

"So you both remember who I am. Because I remember everything, too." 

"How are you here?"

"It doesn't matter. You see, what does matter is that I know both of your secrets. You changed the timeline. Because if I recall correctly, the only speedsters in my other life were me and that smartass Kid Flash, until the both of you showed up and stole everything from me!" Emely had enough.

The constant changes she's learning about because of the change in timeline, anything to do with time travelling, it just makes her feel more guilty for everything that changed.

She sped toward Clariss and knocked him down. 

"I'm sorry, okay? I'm sorry for changing the timeline. Don't make me feel more guilty than I already do." Clariss pulled on his mask and ran away, making Emely and Barry chase him. Barry and Emely went a different way, and attacked Clariss by surprise. 

Clariss disappeared somewhere, so Barry and Emely went back to S.T.A.R Labs. Barry and Iris went to talk in the hall and Emely was left with a guilty conscience. Emely went out into the hall and Barry saw her. 

"Emely, let's go." They sped away and were going to travel back in time again when a figure pulled both of them out. 

The landed on the concrete and Emely looked up

"Flash. Speedy. Here put these on." 

Barry and Emely changed into the clothes they were handed and followed Jay into a diner.

"Where are we?" 

"Motorcar Diner in Central City." Emely nodded

"What year?" 

"1998." Emely widened her eyes.

"That explains a lot." The three of them sat down, Emely had to sit on Barry's lap

"You both were about to reset the timeline again after screwing it all up." Barry and Emely looked at him

"Yeah, I know all about that. After your not so subtle reaction to when you first met me, Harry told me what happened between Zoom and your mom and your dad, as well as her parents and siblings, so I decided to keep my eye on the both of you for a bit."
