Later That Day
Aria's Pov

"Just a few more minutes!" Ezra calls to Piper and Stella playing on the park "And I mean it this time."

"Okay Dad!" Piper replies, sliding down the slide.

"Mommy!" Stella yells "I can't get down!"

"Go down the slide." I chuckle.

"No, scary!" She replies with wide eyes.

"You love the slide Stell," I sigh.

"Catch me." She says, crossing her arms.

"Piper will catch you." I tell her "Can you go to the bottom of the slide Piper?" She does as I ask, waiting with her arms out for her younger sister.

"No I want Mommy!" Stella says sternly.

"Fine," I huff "I'll be right there." Setting my coffee down and glancing at Ezra quickly, I walk over to the bottom of the slide. Stella sits down at the top and comes down, smiling the whole time.

"There," I say as I lift her into my arms "Was that really so hard?"

She just shakes her head "I wanna go again."

"We should probably get going now," I explain "Auntie Hanna is expecting us for dinner soon."

"Why does Piper get to stay?" She asks, pointing to her sister climbing up the play structure.

"She doesn't," I reply "Come on Piper, time to go!" After a begrudging sigh, she walks back over to the concrete picnic table we're sitting at.

"Here, your hot chocolates are probably cool enough to drink now." I say, handing both of them their cups.

"Do Hanna and Caleb want us to bring anything?" Ezra asks as we walk back to the car.

"They said to just bring ourselves." I reply, lifting Stella into her car seat. The drive to the Rivers' is mostly silent, with the exception of Piper and Stella bickering on who gets to knock on the door. Since they're pretty close in age—three years and eight months apart to be exact—they often argue they way sisters do. I'm not sure what we'll do when they're older, they already get into disagreements about anything and everything, although mostly over toys. Stella and Piper are into pretty much everything the same; toys, tv shows, having whatever the other has that they don't. But besides all that, their sisterly bond is already so strong.

We pull in Hanna and Caleb's driveway, both the girls noticeably excited to get out of the car. They undo the top part of their seatbelts, although neither of them can yet undo the bottom.

"Hey Stella if you can say what four plus four is then you can knock on the door." Piper says tauntingly to her little sister.

"Piper she's two." I sigh.

"Is it..." Stella starts anyway "Twenty four?" Piper bursts out out laughing, and I can't help but quietly chuckle at her answer.

"No Stella that's how old Mommy is!" Piper exclaims. Now Ezra starts laughing, looking back at his daughters.

"Okay you two," He sighs "Let's go inside."
