Byakuya x Shy Reader

"Ahh! NO! Now I'll surely get fired from my job!"

After all the time and effort into making that paperwork stack look nice and clean was destroy-ed in a matter of seconds. What happened was while working on the paperwork you focused stacking it while being quite for a matter of time. You've been in Byakuya's office the longest of time, but didn't get recognized for your work.

Maybe it was because you would run out of the office before he come probably praise you. All this had to do with your shyness that you can't seem to ever get rid of. It was like a curse that would be with you for all your life.

At the moment with the paperwork falling down your captain came into the room. His gray, cold eyes widen at the office, all filled with mountains of paperwork. You cried out and got on your knees, crying while begging. "Please sir I didn't mean for this to happen! Don't take away my job!"

"Why would I take away your job? You're one of the few who remain in my office for a long time for years of work."

"Huh?" You snapped your head up. "Y-You mean you notice me?"

Byakuya went over to his seat before answering. "Only when you don't run away from me before I can give out orders."

You blushed and rubbed the back of your neck. "S-Sorry captain... I'm just extremely shy... always have been from birth..."

This had his eyebrow raise in confusion. He stared at you in secret glances while you picked up the paperwork on the ground. "If you're so shy then how did you become a soul reaper? Surly you must have gone to the academy for the training."

"Y-Yes your right... but I had a friend there that helped me with my shyness." You smiled but quickly fell into a hear-breaking frown. "During our first mission we were too check the rest of the area for anymore hollows. Of course we were the ones to do it but (f/n) didn't want to leave me alone so he/she went with me." A single tear rolled down your cheek but you let it be and forgot Byakuya was even in the room with you. "There was a noise in the back of a broken down store. We both went over to check it... but the hollow was faster than us, but (f/n) block the attack from me, but it ended up killing him/her. I killed the hollow off as best I could in time to get (f/n) to a healer... but I was too late."

The air thickened around the office as you snapped out of the memory and shook your head. "Sorry captain if I bored you..."

Byakuya stared at you with a new found respect. "I listened to every word of it. But why did you never tell me this happened?"

"I-It was just too painful too tell..."

Byakuya stayed quiet for a long while until he pushed his chair back, making a loud screeching loud on the wooden floor. You closed your eyes, waiting to see what would happen. All you felt was a hand on your shoulder.

Opening up your eyes you saw Byakuya give you letter in the other hand. "Why don't you take a break off for the entire month? After all these years you've worked for me I've never taken a notice to you and given you a day off."

This all seemed like a dream. You took the letting and looked over it, it was a real slip for a vacation. You suddenly hugged your captain without a second thought. "Thank you, thank you! This means so much to me!"

".... Can you let go of me now?"

With a squeak you quickly let go and rubbed the back of your neck. "S-Sorry captain! I promise to never do that again!"

He sighed and walked back to his desk. "Just leave already and don't tell anyone I gave you this kind of free vacation."

With a nod you ran out of the office to start that long awaited vacation you were dying to get was finally happening. Strangely enough when you came back you also came back with the promotion you waited years to get, now Byakuya had two assistant captains, and he never regret it.
