Chapter Sixteen

I woke up, my vision a bit foggy. The first thing I saw was Kaylene looking down at me.

"Finally," she sighed taking a step back. "Quick, we need you to get ready to go."

"Already?" I grunted, sitting up.

"Yes, there's not much time," she answered.

"Is this mission dangerous?" I asked quietly.

She looked at me deeply. "It is," she answered quietly. "Come on now, get yourself ready, we'll say bye to the others," she walked out of the room, closing the door behind her. I looked around the small white room. Clothes lay on the end of my bed. Peeling off the hospital gown, I climbed into the thick leggings with a matching shirt and jacket. I tied the shoelaces on my sneakers and walked out, whipping my hair into a ponytail along the way.

"Ready?" Asked Kaylene looking at me up and down. "Remember don't tell anyone where you are going, say you'll be back."

She led me to the dormitories we were put in, and told me she would be outside. Aaron was inside alone.

"Hey," he said standing up. "I heard you're going somewhere."

I breathed. "Yeah."

I stared intently into his eyes. I walked up slowly, and both at the same time, our lips crashed together, his soft on mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck, his arms pulled around my waist.

I looked into his loving eyes, our foreheads touching.

"Bye Aaron," I whispered, kissing him one more time. The door opened as we pulled away, and I hugged the rest goodbye. I hugged Aaron tightly once more.

"Let me come with you," he said huskily in my ear.

"I'll be back, I promise," I whispered back.

I kissed his cheek, no one realizing.

"Bye," I said again, leaving everyone was hard. Whilst closing the door behind me, I caught Aaron still looking after me, a saddened look to his eyes.
