Lauren

The banging on the front door woke me up out of my deep sleep. My eyes turned to the clock on the wall and saw that it was 8:02 am.

"Oh shit. We're late." I said realizing that today was Monday.

"Abbygail! Get up!" I screamed.

The banging at the door continued. "Who is it?" I asked pulling my hair into a pony tail.

"Mr. Dean." His deep voice said. It was the land lord.

I opened the door. "Oh good morning. Do you need something?"

"Yea I need the rent money."

"I thought my father payed it last week." I said.

"He gave me 40 bucks rent is 300 dollars."

Well that explains why the hot water stopped working.

I placed my hand on my forehead. "Mr. Dean can you please-"

"Have the money by 4 pm or I will put you out. Have a good day." He said walking away.

I slammed the door shut and pressed my back against it. I tried holding back my tears. If he kicks us out we won't have anywhere to go.

"Whats wrong?"Abby asked with sympathy in her eyes.

"Don't worry about it." I brushed pass her and went into my room. I looked into my closet and found a simple outfit. Skinny jeans, a plaid button up shirt, and my all black converse.

"Are you ready?" I asked Abby.

She sighed. "Yea."

We grabbed our back packs and began our long walk to school.

Ace

My phone rang and I saw that it was Tisha.

"Talk." I said while putting my foot on the break as I came to a red light.

"Your son wanna see you." She said smacking on bubble gum. I swear this bitch keeps gum in her mouth.

"I told lil man I would pick him up on Saturday."

"I know Ace but he wanna see you now."

"Alright I'm on my way." I hung up my phone.

While making my way over to Tisha's house I saw too girls walking with back packs on.

One of the girls had a fine ass shape like a grown woman but I could still tell she was young. Me being the person I am I pulled my car over to offer them a ride to where they were going.

"Aye!" I yelled out the window.

They both looked at me and began to walk faster.

"Aye!" I yelled again.

"Leave us alone." The older one said grabbing her sister's hand.

"Fine bitch, I was trying to help your ass out."

Lauren

"Why didn't you just talk to him?" Abby asked as we were walking.

"We don't talk to strangers."

"But he could have gave us a lift to school-"

"We don't talk to strangers! And we sure as hell don't get into cars with them!" I screamed at her.

She stared at me then started speed walking.

I sighed. "Abby wait-"

"Just leave me alone. I know the way to school." She said and started running.
