Very Formal Discussion #3:
Let's talk about the ASOUE trailer no. 2!

NEWEST #ASOUE TRAILER ABOVE ON THE MEDIA GUYS! If you haven't watched it yet, I suggest you watch it NOW. ASAP. 😂💖

My thoughts about the newest asoue trailer the second:

• I LOVE IT THAN THE LAST ONE. In this new trailer, they were able to show the much darker side of the story, also telling the audience how much sinister Count Olaf can be. I had absolute goosebumps when he shouted the "WHEN ARE WE GOING TO EAT?!" line. I felt like he depicted how villainous, treacherous and evil Count Olaf could be which is making me mor excited about all of this!

Another thing that I loved about Neil Patrick Harris' deliverance as Count Olaf was when he flicked his one eyebrow smoothly on the "seize the children part" as he gave Justice Strauss a sinister look, and when he hit the door with the knife, played with the knife, and threw the knife at the children, like, this is it, I have been waiting for four years -- I'm happy. Finally, a wonderful live adaptation of one of the scariest villains in my childhood! 💖

• My thoughts on Violet is that yes, she lacks the height, and doesn't look like the mature, eldest Baudelaire. She doesn't even look fourteen, and is wearing pink clothes -- but hey, I love that what she lacked in physical maturity, Malina Weissman was able to depict the mind of her character maturely. As all of us can see in the trailer, Violet didn't talk back to any of the adults, and was one who was quiet as she held Sunny in her arms, whilst sassy Klaus do the talking. Why isn't she standing up for the three of them like what Klaus is doing?

Because that's immature and she knows that even though they were probably the most stupid or evil adults out there, talking back was improper or impolite. (Whoops, I'm not saying I don't like Klaus, love him to bits! 💖) Because instead of talking back, the gears in her head are already spinning, trying to think of ways they could escape the unfortunate events they're experiencing. Malina clearly depicted a mature & polite Violet Baudelaire, just like in the books. (I'm not saying Emily Browning sucks, she was great too.)

Also, I also love how Malina acted as the eldest, with her saying she had to protect them at all costs, because that was her promise to her parents. (That part of the trailer breaks my heart.) And I also love the new twist they did with her grappling hook! I REALLY APPRECIATE HOW THEY FINALLY SHOWED US AN INVENTION OF VIOLET! 💖

• Next up, sassy Klaus. ❤ I actually thought Louis Hynes was the perfect Klaus Baudelaire in my opinion! I mean, he depicted Klaus' strong instinct -- just like in the books -- with the way he gave Violet the something's-up look on the Meet Count Olaf teaser when Mr. Poe said that Olaf was very eager to meet them, and when he sassed Stephano: "It's the afternoon and you're Count Olaf." and Charles: "I'm having a very terrible childhood right now." Like oh yas, Klaus 😂💖 I also liked the fact that in 1:37, Klaus is hiding the Nuptial Law book in his clothes -- IT'S AS IF I WAS RE-READING THE BOOKS AGAIN! (And damn, Klaus is bae 😂😍)

• Sunny and the Incredibly Deadly Viper just pinched my asoue heart. 💖

• I have nothing against the other casts, they look amazing! Especially Justice Strauss with that "carpe diem" scene. 😂

• The set looks nice, I just thought that the background in 0:11 looks sooo... unreal and off -- yup, this was my only nitpick. Like, if they couldn't find a decent forest background, well at least they could edit the Baudelaires nicely to make it more realistic.

• Everyone's whining about how we got to see Sir's face. Uhm, yeah I guess it's disappointing but I'm not much bothered. 😊 Maybe it's because I'm just really optimistic, or the fact that I'm glad I don't have to endure the frustration of wanting to see Sir's face, just like in the books 😂 -- [also I heard that conjuring up smoke would be already way expensive(?)]

• THERE ARE TWO NEW WOMEN IN THE TRAILER THAT WE ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH. First, that golden blonde woman in the garden of Uncle Monty (she was shown in the first trailer), and second, the blonde woman tied on the tree, trying to get inside a phone booth. Both of them could either be Kit or Esmé -- or probably Jacquelyn or Sally Sebald? Idk, but I love how Snicket's showing more volunteers to us! 😊

There was this one opinion in one of our asoue discussions in Facebook that the golden blonde woman could really be Esmé. It was possible that she was arresting Count Olaf because justice was in before or something? And that she just fell in love with him when she realized how much evil they have in common. That would make sense for her appearing in trap doors (remember she used the tunnel leading to the trap door in the Baudelaire mansion to kill the Baudelaire parents) and using harpoon guns.

But anyway, these are only theories and I wanna hear your opinions about these two women. 😊

• ALSO, THERE'S A NEW THEORY ABOUT THE BAUDELAIRE'S BRIGHT CLOTHES. Some says that their clothes would probably grow darker to the end of the series, and that they're only bright now because first of all they were happy and rich before, or second, it was probably the clothes Mr. Poe or their guardians gave them. Remember, they have no clothes left so they had no choice but to wear them.

• I have nothing against Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket. 😂

AND THAT'S IT. Those are my opinions about it, and I really hope you guys would share yours, even try to tell a bit of the theories conjuring in your head! Comment in the comment section belooow! 😊💖
