Chapter 13: Let Me Explain

Courtney's POV

I felt so bad about what happened today I had to speak to Grayson. I knew he, and probably Ethan by now would want to know what I just did to them, how I could betray them like that.

I saw the look on poor Gray's face as Cameron was talking to him, and when I agreed and walked away. I saw how shattered he was, as though he'd just lost the only thing left in his entire life. I felt the most guilty I have ever felt but that wasn't the plan.

I could't even turn back to look at him, because I knew, if I did, I would go running back to him, and that's not what the plan is right now...

As I'm driving to the Dolan's, I'm trying to remember where it is I'm going, but I've penny boarded down here before, and i did kind of remember from last time as well.

I literally fall out my car and run to the door, not bothering to look for a door bell, instead I just knock.

About a minute or two later, the door starts to open, to reveal a tired-looking Ethan. The look he gave me instantly told me he knew what happened, but the worst part is, it wasn't a look of anger or hurt, but a look of disappointment. It made me melt.

"I'm sorry Courtney but I think It's best if you go." He said giving me a fake smile, beginning to close the door, when I pushed it back.
"I know Ethan and I'm so sorry for what happened today but I can explain!" I was nearly yelling.

"I think you've made it perfectly clear how you feel." He tried to close the door again, but once again, I pushed it back.
"What?!" He yelled.
"I know I upset you and Gray today but the thing is... I have a plan..." I explained my plan to him, and finally he let me in. I ran upstairs to Gray's bedroom and knocked on the door.

"What did she want Ethan?"
"'She' has some explaining to do." I replied, pushing open the door to let him see me.
"Damn right she does!" He said, looking at me and He'd been crying. A lot. To be honest, I'm surprised he didn't just push me away and thrown me out the house.
"You're right... how about we go somewhere else... somewhere a little more private...?" I suggested.
"Okay let me get ready."

I went downstairs and ran to hug Ethan and also, to explain where we were going.

"I am so sorry Eth..." I begged.

"It's okay Courtney, I understand." and for a split second, he smiles at me. It's quick, but it's quick enough for me to see that this time, it's a real smile, and i knew...

Everything would be okay....
