Lauren's POV

"So just talk to her...since when do you come to me for advice about Mani?"

"Don't be so surprised. Camila may be my best friend but you're Normani's and I need actual factual advice from someone who knows her." Dinah basically pleaded to me.

We were sitting in my dressing room while Camila was doing another soundcheck onstage with Normani. The show was in a few hours and everyone was just making sure things ran as smoothly as possible; of course for me, this was just another one of the several shows for this tour but I totally understood the pressure for the others, my girlfriend included.

"You've known her for years, what else do you need to figure out?"

"Maybe how to ask her out? What does she like? How corny can I get?"

"Let's be honest, Dmac...it's way too late to pull some whack romantic shit out of your ass, I say you just have a grownup talk with her about where you stand in your relationship and where you want to be." I tell her, a supportive hand placed on her wrist.

The look of solemnity on her face was a understanding one, she knew that her and Normani had somehow managed to weave their way in and out of talking about their relationship status for 3 whole years, and had no one to blame for that but their insecurities.

"Normani is in love with you, D." I speak carefully, worried of the other girl's reaction.

"What?" She snaps her head up immediately in shock. "She said so?"

Oh, Normani is going to kill me for this but someone has to help them kick their asses in gear.

"Yeah, she had blurted it out like last year during some sappy romance movie we were watching and she was so bashful when I asked her about it, but she admitted it." I confirmed.

"Woah..."

"...but don't tell her I said that! She'll kill me. I just figured you'd need a little push and reassurance of her feelings for you." I warned her.

"That was definitely helpful Lo, thank you! I might need your help later, but I know what I need to do." She says quickly, jumping up to head out of the door and do goodness knows what.

I stop her however by grabbing her wrist again and give her a stern look.

"I've always liked you Dinah. And you and Normani are super cute together. I've told her she needs to get her act together and do right by you, but I expect the same from you." I raise my eyebrows at her. "Hurt my best friend, I hurt you."

For once in the three years I've known Dinah, she actually looked like she took a threat from me seriously. I wasn't exactly kidding this time around though. We joke and play fight with each other, but I'll go to war for Normani, she's like my sister. And thought I love Dinah with all my heart, I'm down for Normani before anyone else.

"I promise to take care of her." She nodded. "I know we were kind of been playing around with each other's hearts when we started this, and we honestly should have listened to Mila, but that girl is my whole world whether you believe it or not. I'll protect her Lo, I'll do my best."

"All I want." I smile at her, punching her shoulder lightly. "Go sweep my babygirl off her feet."

Once Dinah had left to go check on Normani and Camila, I just knew my girlfriend would take that as an excuse to dip out of their conversation to come talk to me again like she sneakily did earlier. And when I saw the reflection of her peeking into my dressing room through my vanity mirror I was sitting in, I smirked.
