I wake up to see Mason putting on his pants and shirt. I close my eyes again and I feel him lean on me and kiss my temple, and leave his room. I look at the foot of my bed seeing clothes, I slip them on and put on my converses, going to the bathroom I start to braid my hair. I get out of the bathroom to see Mason standing in front of the bathroom door, I jump startled

"I knew you weren't asleep." He said "I want to take you out on a date." He says "just us, but I have a job I have to do real quick."

"That's funny." I say "I'm not going on a date with you."

"But you will." He said "because I say so. I can even take you on this job and you'll have no say." He said "but, this job is too dangerous."

"Great." I say sitting on the bed "then I can wait here till night and you won't come." I smile

"I will fight for you even if it means killing."

"Ewe." I say, he chuckles and grabs my cheek to bend down and kiss me forcefully. I get out of his touch and stare at him evilly

"You know you liked it." He winks and leaves.

I lay in bed watching TV after a long time. I watch the news and see someone with my mom

"Mrs. Vanderwall, how could you not know your daughter was missing?" The lady said sounding disappointed. Mom has bags and is in the same clothes as I left and has puffy eyes

"When did she go missing again?" She asked

"You shouldn't be watching that." Dave says with Trisha behind him.

"I can watch whatever I want." I say not  looking at him and still watch

"What type of mother are you?" The lady asked my mom "you lock yourself in your room and won't check on your daughter?" She asked

"My husband is dead!" Mom yells

"A year ago he died, and now maybe your daughter because you couldn't take care of her properly."

"Why didn't you tell me Em?" Trisha asked

"Tell you what?" I ask

"That your mother neglected you and your dad is dead."

"It doesn't matter now." I say getting up.

Flashback•

After Dad died his funeral came up and my mom didn't come, only I did. He requested to have me drop a dahlia flower, dweller in the valley, is the meaning. I walk up to the grave with shaky hands and tears in my eyes, I set the flower down and back up hesitantly. An officer came up to me and gave me Dads uniform and hat, I started to cry and the police man pat my shoulder

"Your father was and still is a great man, if you need anything please come to us." He said.

•End of Flahback•

"Emma?" Trisha asks me

"What?" I say

"Are you okay?" She asks

"I'm fine Trisha, it's not like I'm sick." I say

"I didn't say that." She said

"I know." I say getting up and walking out "don't follow me." I say going outside. I walk towards the flowers and some guy comes up to me with a gun in a holster

"What are you doing here?" He asked

"Im Masons slave." I say and he laughs

"You remind me of someone." He says and puts his hand out to a bench, we both sit and he talks "you remind me of Grace." He smiles "she would always come out here and run in the flower beds. She loved Mother Nature and could never harm anything.
