Season: Three

Episode(s): Welcome to the Tombs

*Ryan's POV*

I stuffed my clothes and stuff into my duffel bag. Rick's plan was to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I found my old cross necklace and put it around my neck over my arrow necklace.

Everyone walked outside to the car. Carl was especially pissed at the situation. I gave my bag to Beth, who loaded it in the car.

Daryl sat by his bike, playing with his poncho. I walked over to him.

"You know, Merle never did nothin' like that his whole life," he said.

"He gave us a chance," I whispered. His eyes met mine. I held out my hand and helped him up. Our hands stayed glued to each other for five seconds before they separated. Our eyes never left each other.

"Get over here," he muttered and pulled me into a big hug.

"No matter what, I'm gonna protect you," he said into my hair. "You're my closest friend and I'd honestly be lost without you."

"Yeah, me, too," I said. I balled his hand up in mine and kissed it.

Glenn whistled. It was time.

---

Glenn, Maggie, and I threw on some SWAT armor as fast as we could. Vehicles rumbled in the distance.

"Go!" I hissed and we hid in strategic parts of the prison. The Governor and his army rolled in. He had army trucks and lots of guns. To tell you the truth? I was terrified.

The ground rattled as one of the guard towers exploded. Thank God none of us were in there.

Their tires popped as they rolled over the traps Michonne and Daryl set up. Rapid gunfire echoes through the air.

"Okay," I muttered. "Stay calm. You've been through worse shit than this, you can do this. Rest in peace. Now get up and go to war."

The gunfire increased as another tower exploded. Something clattered on the ground as footsteps approached us.

"Go!" I hear the Governor exclaim. "Go, go! Move!" The bastards had broken through our fence. When I heard the rusty door slide open, I knew that they had fallen right into our trap.

I decided to risk a peek. I popped my head out for a split-second then ducked back under.

Holy nipplefuck. This asshole had kids that looked younger than fifteen fighting for him!

It was time to set the stage for the second part of our plan. I looked over at Glenn and nodded. He tossed a can into a window that led to the walker-infested tombs. Panting came from the window. They were in the tombs.

Glenn held up a fist. I clutched the alarm remote in my hand.

"On my signal," he mouthed. He held up a grenade. "Three... two... one!" He threw the grenade. The Governor's army started shouting and yelling. I turned the alarm on. Red lights lit up the scene and an awful, wailing sound echoed through the sky.

The soldiers ran outside, right into the line of fire.

"Get the hell outta here!" Glenn screamed.

"You heard the man! Maggie, light it up!" I screamed and started firing. I felt a pounding pain in my side as a bullet ricocheted onto me. I pulled it out of my vest. Thank God for SWAT gear.

"This is for nearly executin' Glenn!" I yelled and shot a blonde woman.

"This one's for borderline rapin' my sister!" I shot a brunet male.
